Hull FC end losing streak with 36-12 win

Hull FC and Catalans Dragons earned morale-boosting wins in Saturday’s Super League action. Two tries for Ethan O’Neill helped Hull end a four-match losing run at the expense of bottom side Huddersfield Giants thanks to a 36-12 win. And in France, the Dragons responded to last weekend’s heavy defeat against Wigan in their showpiece Paris fixture by seeing off Castleford Tigers 34-28 for just a second win in five. Huddersfield remain at the foot of the table having won only twice all season, while Hull
move above Castleford and into ninth, one place behind Catalans. Get Super League tickets hereNot got Sky? The first half was tight, but home tries for Logan Moy and Jake Arthur
established a 12-6 lead for Hull, and Huddersfield unravelled after the interval. Arthur’s kick sent O’Neill over for his first try of the season, and the forward’s second came later in the game after Amir Bourouh had barged over from dummy-half on the hour and Harvie Barron also crossed. Aidan Sezer kicked 12 points and a late Giants rally produced only a consolation for Connor Wrench. Hull boss Andy Last told Sky Sports afterwards: “Hopefully it gives us a little bit of confidence getting a
win with a strong performance. It just makes the whole environment a bit of a different place.” Huddersfield boss Jim Lenihan – still looking for his first win in charge – said: “At half-time we had a good position where we were competing OK, but we mentally let the game go. “We’re working hard and we’re doing a really tough job, but at the moment other sides are working harder than us. We’ve got to stay in the game mentally as much as physically.” 2026

36-12 is wild, Huddersfield fell apart hard.
So they “end a losing streak” but it’s only four matches? Feels like they still aren’t good, just got lucky vs the bottom team. Ethan O’Neill scored twice right? Like ok great but what about the defense the whole game lol.
“Mentally let the game go” is such a coach thing, like it was just vibes? I don’t get how you can be “competing OK” at halftime then suddenly give up like 30+ after. Also Sezer kicking 12 points… is that like field goals? Either way they should’ve kept the pressure, not just hope for the best.
Catalans beating Castleford after that Wigan loss is exactly why I don’t trust the league tables. One week you’re getting smoked, next week you’re fine, like the whole thing’s random. Also Paris fixture sounds cool but I’m still confused—was this the same “showpiece” game people were talking about last weekend or nah?
