Heat advisory issued for Miami-Dade, Broward for second day in a row

For a second straight day, residents in parts of Miami-Dade and Broward are being warned to stay ahead of the heat.
A heat advisory is in effect for the counties on June 16, running from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Coastal and metro areas are included, with the National Weather Service forecasting conditions similar to what came before. On June 15, the predicted feels-like temperatures reached 103 to 107 degrees.
Today’s outlook keeps the pressure on. Scattered cloud coverage could allow heat index values to rise again to as high as 105 to 107 degrees. High temperatures are expected in the low-to-mid 90s.
Miami is forecast to reach a high of 91 degrees. Fort Lauderdale and Homestead are expected to hit 92 degrees each.
The NWS safety guidance focuses on simple moves that can make a measurable difference in how the body handles extreme heat: hydrating before you’re thirsty. wearing lightweight clothing. and taking breaks in shade or in an air-conditioned building—fans “may not be enough.” It also urges people to limit “strenuous” outdoor activity during the afternoon.
Signs of heat exhaustion, according to the Mayo Clinic, include cool, moist skin with goosebumps in the heat, heavy sweating, faintness, dizziness, fatigue, and a weak, rapid pulse. Other symptoms listed are low blood pressure upon standing, muscle cramps, nausea, and headache.
The sequence is stark: the advisory is not a one-day event. With the same counties under warnings again on June 16—paired with feels-like temperatures forecast to climb into the mid-to-upper 100s—the message is clear enough without extra interpretation: today’s hottest hours are scheduled. and preparation needs to happen before they arrive.

So it’s hot again, shocking. Hydrate and pray I guess.
I keep seeing these “feels like” numbers like 107 and I don’t get it. My car says it’s 98 in the shade so how is it that much worse? Either way I’m staying inside.
My neighbor said fans are fine as long as you leave them on all day. But it literally says fans may not be enough so now I’m confused. Like if it’s only 11am to 6pm, can I just go outside before 11 and after 6 and be good? Heat always feels random down here.
They should just shut off work for the day if it’s “advisory” again. I read the part about heat exhaustion and the symptoms sound like regular summer problems too, like headache and dizziness—so how do you know it’s the heat and not like, dehydration from not eating? Also why does Miami hit 91 but they’re talking like it’s 107? Feels like math and weather hate me.
