Hearts of Oak Bus Crash Before Crucial Samartex Fixture

Hearts of Oak’s team bus was involved in a minor road accident on Saturday, May 16, 2026, while travelling to Samreboi for their matchday 33 Ghana Premier League fixture against FC Samartex.
The incident occurred during the team’s journey when a tricycle collided with the Hearts of Oak bus while crossing the road, causing brief panic among supporters and the football community.
Following the accident, the club released an official statement reassuring the public that all players and officials on board escaped unharmed.
“On our way to Samraboi to honour our Matchday 33 fixture against Samartex, our team bus was involved in a minor incident after being hit by a tricycle while crossing,” the statement read.
While the team avoided injuries, a few roadside victims who were affected by the collision required medical attention.
“A few roadside victims affected by the incident were taken to the hospital at Wassa Simpa, where they received treatment and have been discharged,” the club added in its statement.
