Motorcycle rider, 50, dies after collision near Tillsonburg

Article content A man is dead after the motorcycle he was riding collided with a pickup truck that was towing an RV near Tillsonburg, Ontario Provincial Police say. It was about 12:45 p.m. on Saturday when police say they were called to the crash between the two vehicles, which happened at the intersection of Plank Line and Ostrander Road – a rural intersection that is located north of Tillsonburg. The person on the motorcycle, a 50-year-old man from Woodstock, was taken to hospital and later
pronounced dead, police said. Recommended Videos As of late Saturday, the investigation by the OPP’s Oxford detachment was ongoing, police said. Investigators were asking for anyone who may have witnessed the crash, or who may have dashboard-camera or surveillance footage from the area at the time it happened, to call the Oxford OPP at 1-888-310-1122. The Plank Line-Ostrander Road intersection was closed for several hours while emergency crews and investigators were at the scene, but it had reopened as of late Saturday night, police said.

Wait so it was a pickup towing an RV? That sounds like one of those blind corner situations. Plank Line and Ostrander Road sounds out in the sticks, people are probably flying out there.
Woodstock man… isn’t that where they always have crazy traffic? I saw something online once about motorcycles and trucks and it’s usually the truck “pulling out” but idk. Also why was the intersection closed for hours, like did they have to airlift him or something? Sad though.
I don’t get it, motorcycles are supposed to be careful but pickups towing RVs are huge, like how do they even see them at an intersection? Maybe the RV swayed the pickup and then boom. Either way, hope they find the footage because nobody ever has it when you need it. Tillsonburg roads feel sketchy sometimes.
