Benjamin Ayres went public with girlfriend Caitlin Crosby in an Instagram post shared June 6, marking the Hallmark star’s first joint photo set with the actress and Giving Keys founder.
Benjamin Ayres didn’t wait long to make it official.
On Saturday. June 6. the 49-year-old Hallmark star posted a joint Instagram set with his girlfriend. Caitlin Crosby—turning their romance into something fans can see in one scroll. Ayres. who currently stars in the new series Hope Valley: 1874. captioned the shared post with a line that sounded almost like a nod to the genre he’s known for.
“One thing I’ve learned making Hallmark movies is that you never quite know where the story is going to take you,” Ayres wrote. “There can be unexpected plot twists, plenty of character development and certainly some lessons along the way. Thankfully, this story led me to @caitlincrosby”
The comments section quickly filled with well-wishes from fellow Hallmark faces. Holland Roden wrote, “Cutest couple!!. Whom I also think you both have the cutest kiddos!!. Also can we talk about the RU photoshopped Ben photo in the background. I want this story,” while Nikkie DeLoach added, “So so happy for both of you!!. You both deserve so much goodness. Love you.”.
This was their first Instagram post together, but it wasn’t their first appearance as a pair. The two previously cozied up at an event back in March, when Caitlin joined Ayres at the When Calls the Heart & Hope Valley: 1874 Celebration at The Sun Rose Hotel in West Hollywood, Calif.
Ayres, who was previously married to Erin Ayres after tying the knot in 2008, shares two daughters with his ex-wife. Caitlin Crosby, meanwhile, has her own history: she previously dated Zachary Levi and was married to Colin Crosby in 2014, and the two have two children together.
Caitlin isn’t new to the spotlight either. She has worked as an actress and singer. appearing in That’s So Raven. 7th Heaven. That ’70s Show. Strong Medicine. Living with Fran. Malcolm in the Middle. and The Hard Times of RJ Berger. Her film credits include Karaoke Man, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Undead, Shades of Ray, and Shelter.
She’s also behind The Giving Keys. a pay-it-forward company that hand-stamps products with inspirational words like Believe. Love. Strength. or a personalized word. The company also donates a portion of its profits to longtime nonprofit partner Chrysalis. which provides employment resources and support for those transitioning out of homelessness.
Now, with a joint post dated June 6, Ayres and Crosby have crossed a clear line—from appearing together at events to sharing the relationship directly with the public.

Wait so the “RU photoshopped Ben photo in the background” thing… was that real? Cause I’m seeing people say it’s fake but also saying he’s in Hope Valley 1874 like it’s the same plot twist? I’m confused, but congrats I guess.
Hallmark people always do the whole “unexpected plot twists” line like it’s their job (because it is). Also wasn’t he married like 2 seconds ago? Erin Ayres? I dunno, relationships move fast. Giving Keys sounds cool but I’m mostly here for the kiddos and wondering if they’ll be on camera together next episode or if this is just regular Instagram PR.
