Future and Tyla’s “Game Time” fuels 2026 hype

FIFA has released “Game Time,” a new 2026 World Cup album track by Future and Tyla, with production by Grammy-winning Cirkut. The song arrives as both artists are set to take part in the tournament’s opening ceremonies and their neighboring U.S. and Mexico app
By Friday, May 29, the build-up to the 2026 FIFA World Cup gained a fresh, bass-heavy soundtrack: FIFA released “Game Time,” a new track from the tournament’s album by Future and Tyla.
The message is simple and loud—work through the night and show up when it’s time. Future’s chorus mixes determination with soccer-flavored wordplay. including lines about staying up until “20 seconds ’til game time” and getting “religious. ” while he raps about making money “like FIFA. ” needing “two accountants. ” and traveling the world. In the same section. he leans into match-day swagger with references to a referee and the idea that he’s the one who turns the game.
Tyla brings her own angle, delivering verses that also tie hustle to the pitch. She offers lines about being “an issue” and asks. “If you don’t wanna win. how can I assist you?” Her performance leans into the language of control on the field—“Make a referee wanna blow the whistle”—before she teases a moment of takeover with “beast mode.” In the song. the momentum culminates with her callouts. including “Boricua screaming out. ’Olé. ” as she frames the track as something built to overpower resistance.
The production is credited to Grammy-winning producer Cirkut, who has worked with Lady Gaga, Sam Smith and The Weeknd. The instrumental leans into an upbeat, motivational feel, with bass-heavy production “tinged with horns and snares,” according to the description of the record.
In the “Game Time” video, directed by Yeeiid, Future steps into a starring role that looks tailored for soccer mythmaking. He wears a vintage adidas 1994 World Cup jacket and plays a famous player being photographed on the sidelines of a pitch. Tyla matches the visual energy in multiple looks. including a fashionable black crop top and pants with red stripes. and later a black and white striped dress as the video cuts between performances and soccer moments—music artists on the field. players practicing. and fans running into a stadium.
The release also pulls a thread from Future’s earlier soccer crossover. In 2016’s “Used to This,” he and Drake wore Mexico national team kits and danced around on a soccer pitch in the video.
Both artists are now expected to appear at the World Cup opening ceremonies. Tyla is scheduled to represent her South African heritage at the opening night of the tournament on June 11. when South Africa plays Mexico in Group A play at Estadio Azteca in Mexico City. Future’s appearance is set for June 12. when he performs ahead of the United States’ opener against Paraguay in Group D at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood. California.
FIFA has also already laid groundwork with earlier music releases for the 2026 World Cup album. “Lighter” was issued as the first single, and it celebrates the three host countries. That track features American singer Jelly Roll and Mexican performer Carín León, with Cirkut representing Canada.
The tournament’s official anthem, “Dai Dai,” is performed by Shakira and Burna Boy. Shakira’s track is also connected to the event’s biggest televised moment: Burna Boy will be part of the first World Cup halftime show at the tournament’s final on July 19 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford. New Jersey.

So is this a real World Cup song or just ads for their tour?
I saw Future’s part about “religious” and I’m like what does that even mean 😭. Also “like FIFA” and “two accountants”?? y’all really turning soccer into money math now?
Future saying “20 seconds ’til game time” is kinda catchy but the whole referee thing feels corny. And “Boricua screaming out ‘Olé’” like why is that in a FIFA track lol. Sounds like they’re forcing the hype instead of just letting the team do their thing.
They better not copyright block people trying to listen on TV. I swear FIFA always drops something right before the tournament like it’s gonna fix everything. Also I thought Cirkut was a DJ but apparently Grammy producer? Either way, bass-heavy = instant playlist. I’m just confused why they keep talking about accountants… like the referee needs paperwork now or what?
