Tay Keith. whose real name is Brytavious Chambers. graduated in 2018 from Middle Tennessee State University with a degree in integrated studies and media management. While he was known primarily as a hip-hop and rap producer. he also focused on bridging musical genres through cross-genre music camps at Drumatized—his label supporting hip-hop and country artists.

A statement provided to Billboard from Keith’s family described him in broader terms than charts and studio sessions. calling him a “visionary producer. songwriter. entrepreneur. philanthropist. and cultural force whose work helped define the sound of a generation.” The family said. “He shaped countless hit records and left a lasting mark on music and culture. He was deeply committed to creating opportunities for others through his company, Drumatized, supporting emerging songwriters, producers, and artists.”.

The statement also said Keith was “a passionate supporter of mental health awareness and cancer-related causes in honor of his late mother.”

What has followed his death is a familiar kind of industry grief—names and collaborators lining up to say what the work already proved. In this case. those tributes land on a specific timeline: the welfare check on June 18. the confirmation of no foul play. and a public goodbye from one of the artists most closely tied to his sound.

  2. Wait so police came for a welfare check and that’s what confirmed it… so basically he just died in his apartment, right? That’s sad, but I feel like these articles always leave out the real reason. Also Tay Keith did “Nonstop” so I’m surprised they even say he’s from Memphis like that’s not common knowledge or something.

  3. Drake’s tribute wording is always kinda intense like “endless and eternal gratitude” lol. I don’t even know who Tay Keith is for real but I’ve definitely heard his beats. Kinda wild that he worked with Beyoncé AND Eminem and Miley like how does one person do all that. Also if it was “no foul play” then why are people acting like it’s a conspiracy already.
