The countdown to the Men’s College World Series finals starts at Charles Schwab Field in Omaha, where the North Carolina Tar Heels and the Oklahoma Sooners meet for Game 1 on Saturday, June 20, at 8 p.m. ET.
This one’s on ESPN for viewers in the U.S. but the real question for fans tonight is how they’ll watch. Game 1 streams through DIRECTV or Fubo, and it’s also available via ESPN Unlimited and the ESPN app. For those chasing a free option. there’s a pathway: a free trial with DIRECTV or Fubo is listed for streaming ESPN.
North Carolina arrives in the finals with momentum and a rare run of form. UNC advanced to the MCWS finals for the first time since 2007 after beating West Virginia 12-7 on Wednesday. The Tar Heels went 3-0 in bracket play.
Oklahoma’s road has carried its own weight. The Sooners moved on with an 11-4 win over Georgia on Wednesday, and they also went 3-0 in bracket play.
With ESPN carrying the game, the streaming choices are broad. Fans can watch via ESPN Unlimited and the ESPN app. and the bundle option is laid out with a Disney+/Hulu/ESPN Unlimited package. If someone is specifically trying to stream the MCWS for free. the DIRECTV or Fubo free trial is offered as the route. Sling is also listed as an option for streaming. but without a free trial and with day passes or affordable plans alongside ESPN.

So it’s on ESPN but like… which app is it actually? ESPN+ or regular ESPN??
Tar Heels better not choke again, finals should be easy right? Also I hate that they make you do “free trials” just to watch one game.
UNC already won 12-7 and went 3-0 so I guess they’re gonna steamroll Oklahoma. Unless ESPN streaming decides to buffer like it always does. If you miss it tonight you basically don’t get it, right?
Wait Charles Schwab Field is in Omaha right? I thought it was like a pro stadium not college. Anyway if Sling doesn’t have a free trial then why even list it, seems pointless. I’m just gonna assume DIRECTV is the only way to watch without paying.
