Drake London secures four-year extension worth $141M

Drake London has agreed to a four-year extension with the Atlanta Falcons, a deal reported to be worth $141 million that could reach $150 million with $100 million guaranteed—an effort to stabilize an offense that’s struggled with quarterback consistency.

The Falcons’ offense has been searching for steadiness, and on that front, Drake London is now getting the kind of commitment that signals Atlanta is ready to build around him.

London has agreed to a four-year extension with the Atlanta Falcons, a deal reported to be worth $141 million. The contract could reach $150 million and includes $100 million guaranteed, with Adam Schefter the first to report the compensation. The Falcons, in other words, are putting real money behind the player who has been their most reliable offensive weapon.

Atlanta’s plan doesn’t rely on flashy statistics so much as it relies on what London has consistently provided. Behind Bijan Robinson, London has been the Falcons’ best offensive weapon. The problem has been that his production hasn’t always come in the clean. quarterback-stable environment that top receivers usually get—since entering the league. London has been dealing with shaky play at the position. especially when compared with the standards of elite passing offenses.

That context helps explain why the Falcons have leaned into London anyway. Robinson. for his part. has been a steady force. but unlike London. London hasn’t always had the same level of consistent quarterback support. The turning point Atlanta points to is the decision to stop the revolving door at quarterback—something the Falcons appeared to address when they drafted Michael Penix Jr.

London’s connection with Penix Jr. showed up quickly. Even though London was limited to just 12 games because of injury. he was on pace for what would have been the best season of his career in 2025. The extension. coming with that hope in mind. is also a reminder that the Falcons believe the production arrow can keep pointing the right way.

The terms of the deal are now clear. The extension runs for four years. Total contract value is $141 million, with an average annual value (AAV) of $35,250,000. Guaranteed money is $100 million. With that new price tag. London moves into the third-highest-paid receiver spot per year in the league. behind Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Ja’Marr Chase.

London is set to enter his fifth NFL season after being selected by the Falcons with the No. 8 pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. Over 62 career games, he has 309 catches, 3,961 receiving yards, and 22 touchdowns. The numbers show a steady progression since his arrival from USC—and now the Falcons are betting the next step looks like even more production in an offense that finally has a quarterback direction it can stick with.

  1. So they’re paying him because the quarterback situation was messy… ok but is Penix Jr gonna actually start or is this another revolving door thing again.

  2. I don’t get the 100 million guaranteed part. Like if he gets injured day one they still owe all that? Seems crazy. Also the article says he’s behind Bijan but Bijan is the running back right?

  3. This is why I don’t trust stats. It’s “consistent reliable weapon” but half the time the Falcons offense looked lost. Penix connection showed up quickly?? he played like 12 games and then got hurt again maybe? Idk but paying him third-highest paid receiver sounds like a panic move to me.
