Just before lunch on Tuesday, DoorDash users hit a wall. Reports of trouble poured in across multiple cities, and for a short stretch, the usual rhythm of grabbing food and getting it delivered stalled.
At 10:20 a.m. ET on Tuesday, June 16, more than 36,000 DoorDash users reported issues with the platform, according to Downdetector, which tracks real-time outage updates. The disruptions didn’t feel evenly spread—most complaints clustered in New York, Chicago, Detroit, Dallas and Los Angeles.
Just before noon ET, DoorDash posted on X that the outage was resolved. “Heyyyy…how y’all doin….” the message began. It then said, “We’ve resolved the issue and are working hard to correct any impacted Dashers and orders ASAP. We are SO sorry.”
Users were directed to contact DoorDash Customer Service with questions or concerns tied to the short outage.
The timing mattered: the reports peaked earlier in the morning, then eased as DoorDash indicated that service had returned before midday. For a platform built on speed—especially around lunch breaks—the gap between “something’s wrong” and “it’s fixed” is measured in minutes, not days.
Downdetector’s live reporting shows that the situation was largely contained to the morning window. with the most concentrated wave of complaints tied to those major metro areas. Once DoorDash said it had resolved the issue. attention shifted to what happens next for any Dashers and orders that were affected.

DownDetector always shows the drama lol.
Mine said it was resolved but it still wouldn’t let me reorder. Like okay resolved for who? I had to cancel and reorder and lost my spot.
So they “fixed it” by noon but my dasher just kept driving around for 40 minutes after it was supposed to be back up. Also why is it only in big cities? Sounds like they’re blaming the servers and not the drivers tbh.
This is why I don’t trust delivery apps during lunch rush. I’m pretty sure it’s because the weather or because those places got too many orders and then DoorDash panicked and shut everything off. Downdetector says 36,000 reports which sounds like a lot but also like… only people with time to complain. My order was stuck on “preparing” and then magically went through after I refreshed, so idk what actually changed.
