Doctors Successfully Reattach Man’s Severed Genitals After Alleged Domestic Attack

A 42-year-old Ethiopian man is recovering after surgeons successfully reattached his severed genitals following a violent domestic incident involving his wife.

The Couples lived together for twenty years peacefully Toronto — Surgeons at Asella Referral Hospital successfully reattached a 42-year-old man’s severed genitals after an alleged domestic attack involving his wife.. Dr.. Fekadu, the surgeon who later spoke about the case on an Ethiopian talk show hosted by Seifu Fantahun, described the operation as a rare but successful emergency procedure.. According to the surgeon, the patient arrived at the hospital within three hours of the incident

— a critical factor in saving the organ.. The surgery itself reportedly lasted another three hours.. “The cut was not complicated,” Dr.. Fekadu explained, noting that the injury occurred at the base and that the condition of the severed tissue significantly increased the chances of success.. The patient, who also appeared virtually on the show, said he is now in stable condition.. He told viewers that he is able to urinate normally and has even

started experiencing morning erections.. His only remaining concern, he said, involves complications related to a skin graft procedure.. Doctors are reportedly exploring additional treatment options.. “We Were Sleeping Peacefully” The patient, identified as Abebe, said he and his wife had been married for 20 years and share six children together.. “She was sixteen when we got married and completed high school with me,” he recalled during the interview.. When asked whether there had been a

history of domestic conflict in the marriage, Abebe described their relationship as largely peaceful.. Because of the nature of his work, he said, he was often away from home and returned only a few times each week.. According to his account, the incident occurred around 1 a.m.. while the couple was asleep.. “We were sleeping peacefully,” he said.. “Then she suddenly used a sharp knife to cut off my genital.” Abebe recalled chasing after his

wife immediately after the attack as she fled with the knife.. Neighbors later responded after hearing the commotion, offering him assistance and calling emergency services.. The incident reportedly took place in a small district in Arsi, Oromia region of Ethiopia.. Abebe expressed gratitude to local residents and district officials who helped coordinate emergency medical assistance.. He was first taken to a nearby clinic, where a local physician identified as Dr.. Abudur provided emergency guidance before

arranging his transfer to Asella Referral Hospital.. Once there, Dr.. Fekadu, who was off duty, and his team began emergency surgery around 3 a.m., completing the procedure three hours later.. “I Thought It Was the End” Speaking calmly during the interview, the recovering patient reflected on the emotional trauma of the experience.. “I thought it was the end of the world,” he said.. “I never imagined I would be able to urinate again.” He later

added, smiling, “Alhamdulillah, everything is okay now.” At moments during the interview, he even joked about the possibility of having 16 more children in the future.. Abebe said he believes his wife may have suspected him of having an affair — allegations he denied.. He attributed tensions in the marriage partly to work-related communication on his cellphone.. His wife is currently in prison, according to the interview.. Despite the severity of the incident, Abebe expressed

concern about the emotional impact the situation could have on their children.. “I tell my children to visit their mother,” he said.. “Their mother is still their mother.. I do not want the children to suffer psychologically.” The patient said his remaining concern is the cost and availability of additional treatment for the skin graft complications.. According to the interview, his surgeon is exploring possible medical options abroad, mainly in Turkey.. It remains unclear whether

the wife has formally appeared in court.. The full interview aired in Amharic on Seifu Fantahun’s television program..
