Diddy’s 2028 release date pulled forward again to Feb. 23

Diddy release – Sean “Diddy” Combs’ release date has been moved up to Feb. 23, 2028 from April 25, 2028 as he serves a 50-month federal prison sentence at FCI Fort Dix. The change comes amid fresh sexual assault allegations involving a minor, which Combs says are false, and o
By the time the rap mogul’s federal prison clock ticks forward again, it does so quietly—without a public explanation that would satisfy the people watching the calendar.
Sean “Diddy” Combs, serving a 50-month sentence at New Jersey’s FCI Fort Dix after a federal jury found him guilty of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution, is now set to be released on Feb. 23, 2028. He had previously been scheduled for April 25, 2028.
The Federal Bureau of Prisons declined to comment on why the date was changed. saying it does not discuss the conditions of confinement for any individual. including release plans. The bureau pointed instead to general reasons release dates can move up. including good conduct time. time credits from approved programs and activities. and credit for time served before sentencing.
Combs’ situation is already crowded with legal battles. The rap music mogul is also facing allegations of sexually assaulting a minor nearly 20 years ago. Combs has called the claims false.
The same release-date shuffle has happened before. In November. his release date was pushed back to June 2028 just days after a representative denied a report that Combs had created and consumed alcohol in prison. This latest move leaves the timeline moving again—this time in the opposite direction from June. pulling the date closer to the new Feb. 23, 2028 target.
His attorneys have continued to press for a fight beyond the prison walls. Combs’ legal team is still trying to appeal his conviction. after a trial in which he was convicted on charges related to the transportation of two former girlfriends—Casandra “Cassie” Ventura Fine and the anonymous “Jane”—as well as sex workers for the intent of prostitution.
Combs has denied all allegations of sexual misconduct. Even so, his civil exposure remains wide: he is facing upwards of 70 civil lawsuits across the country, including one most recently filed on June 9 from a former child actor.
In a letter to the judge ahead of his original sentencing, Combs said he got sober “for the first time in 25 years,” has been attending therapy, and started a mentorship program for his fellow inmates.
The Federal Bureau of Prisons did not provide specifics about whether the Feb. 23, 2028 date reflects good conduct time, program time credits, or credit for time served before sentencing. But those are the bureau’s general levers for moving dates forward. and they sit at the center of why his release schedule has now shifted multiple times in recent months.
The questions that remain are straightforward: what exactly drove each change. and what comes next as Combs continues to contest the criminal case while new civil suits and allegations keep arriving. The bureau would not discuss the details. and both FCI Fort Dix and Combs’ lawyer were reached out to for comment.
