By the time the sun hits 10:00 a.m. PDT on June 2, Sanctuary won’t be waiting. The Diablo IV team is opening the 3.1.0 Public Test Realm (PTR) from June 2, 10:00 a.m. PDT to June 9, 10:00 a.m. PDT—an exact one-week window where players can test what’s coming next for Season 14.

This PTR isn’t just for sightseeing. It’s where the next season’s biggest systems are meant to get stress-tested before they go live—especially the changes that could reshape how players build, farm, and group across both Eternal and Seasonal Realms.

The focus areas being previewed in this test include Solo Self Found. new seasonal features. Mythic Uniques 3.0. and rewards coming to the Tower & Leaderboards as they come out of Beta. The team says player feedback is essential for adjustments before the next season goes live. including fine-tuning balance changes and eliminating bugs.

The headline systems are many, but one story thread runs through them: arcane rifts, harder fights, and stronger loot—starting with Pandemonium Ruptures during Season 14.

During Season 14, the division between Sanctuary and Pandemonium is ripped asunder by arcane rifts called Pandemonium Ruptures. These rifts summon a new family of monsters to slay, create the chance to summon a familiar boss, and open new opportunities for loot by conquering the Deathtoll Chamber.

There are three types of Pandemonium Ruptures. In Ruptures (Normal), small ruptures can spawn throughout the overworld of Sanctuary and are especially prevalent in Helltides. In Surging Ruptures, medium ruptures can spawn in place of any local event within a Helltide. In Colossal Ruptures, large ruptures appear only in the Fields of Desecration, the World Boss Arena southeast of Zarbinzet.

Players can also influence how these ruptures unfold. The PTR describes three actions: killing the guardians around Death’s Head Idols to create an open Rupture and cast a ritual ring; keeping the Rupture open longer for more rewards by killing monsters and closing Tears so it stays open; and watching for Rupture Goblins that can appear anywhere and open additional Ruptures.

That sets the stage for Realmwalker 2.0.

Realmwalkers have reappeared across Sanctuary, summoned to challenge those willing—or foolish enough—to tackle the most difficult Pandemonium Ruptures. Completing different types of Pandemonium Ruptures affects the chances to summon a Realmwalker. Ruptures (Normal) cannot summon Realmwalkers. Surging Ruptures give a chance to spawn a Realmwalker when Surging Rupture events are completed with Mastery within the time allotted. Colossal Ruptures guarantee a Realmwalker spawn when completed.

Once the Realmwalker is conquered, a portal opens to the Deathtoll Chamber.

The Deathtoll Chamber is a one-room mini-dungeon accessible either by defeating the Realmwalker or inside a Nightmare Dungeon with the Rupture affix after closing enough Tears within Ruptures. Once inside, players complete a special Rupture activity for even more rewards.

The PTR calls it the best source for Betrayer’s Husks, which are required to open the Seasonal Lair Boss’s Hoard in Torment I+.

Inside, players will also meet Gravehounds, members of the new Risen monster family. Gravehounds appear out of Ruptures and inside the Deathtoll Chamber. When killed, Gravehounds drop orbs that empower the Exarch—a special Risen that absorbs any Orbs that float toward it. The instruction is direct: intercept the orbs before they arrive to claim the power yourself.

In Pandemonium Threshold’s entrance in Zarbinzet, the new seasonal boss arrives. The PTR says Corrupted Reaper is a Corrupted Reaper Lair Boss found in Pandemonium Threshold’s entrance in Zarbinzet. During the PTR, the team says it can be faced once players have reached Torment I+. After Season 14 launches, the seasonal Lair Boss becomes available through the Season Campaign.

Corrupted Reaper requires Betrayer’s Husks to open the rewards cache. The PTR also says it provides the best direct drop chances for both Mythic Uniques and Mythic Unique Upgrade currency than any other activity.

image

And then comes Mythic Uniques 3.0—one of the biggest system changes being tested.

In Season 14, every Unique can be Mythic. The PTR explains that Mythic is no longer an item rarity; it becomes a modifiable Item Quality. Players can make any Unique item into a game-altering Mythic through Item Quality modifiers.

Mythic Uniques will also have their Unique Powers increased by 30%.

This season. any Unique can now drop as a Mythic Unique or be upgraded into a Mythic Unique using the Horadric Cube. The PTR lists multiple ways to craft or earn Mythic Uniques: acquiring Seasonal currency (Pandemonium Fragments) by progressing through the Seasonal Reputation board or defeating the new Lair Boss; earning that Seasonal currency from the Season Reputation board. Resplendent Caches. and from killing the Seasonal Lair Boss; having a chance to earn a Mythic Unique by defeating the Season Lair Boss. Corrupted Reaper; progressing through the Season Rank to earn a class-specific Mythic Unique; and having a very rare chance on both Seasonal and Eternal Realms to find a Mythic Unique whenever an Ancestral Unique would drop.

image

There’s also a limit spelled out for crafted Mythics: you can only equip one crafted Mythic. If multiple Mythics drop through rare drops in-game, the PTR says players can still equip multiple with their one crafted Mythic unique.

That’s paired with changes to end-of-rotation bragging rights: Tower & Leaderboards rewards.

With Tower & Leaderboards coming out of Beta in Season 14, the team says new cosmetics for Leaderboard completion are being added. Players can earn rewards at the end of each Leaderboard reset and at the end of each season.

Weekly rewards are granted to players the next time they log in after the previous weekly reset has ended. The PTR lists ranks that get rewards each week: Progression for players who played the Tower this week and reached Reacher Tower Tier 100 or higher; and Ranks for Top 1. 000 on any leaderboard. Top 500 on any leaderboard. Top 100 on any leaderboard. Top 10 on any leaderboard. and Top 1 on any leaderboard.

image

Each week, players earn a Halo Cosmetic, a Prestige Title, and a Gear Cache. Higher ranks reward more items and a higher chance of Uniques. The PTR says Seasonal Leaderboard Titles and Halos stay throughout the Season until they reset on the next Season.

At the start of the next Season, players are rewarded with an Emblem showing the highest rank achieved on any weekly leaderboard in the previous season, granted on first log-in to the new season.

Grouping is also getting attention through War Plans updates.

The PTR says changes to War Plans are aimed at seamlessly playing with steadfast allies in a Party. As of 3.1 PTR, players can sync their War Plans board with their party. The feature generates a board that creates a new War Plan for the whole party.

image

To sync Plans. the PTR says the party must all be in Temis and the prompt “New Plan” will only appear if players are in a party. Selecting “New Plan For Party” costs 2 Marks of El’Druin. When selected, the party sees a member initiate a vote to re-roll all War Plan boards and sync them. If all players accept, the initiating player’s board resets and that exact one is pushed to the other players.

A note is included: Plans are synced regardless of War Plan Level or other states, including Torment Level and Campaign Completion.

The Horadric Cube is also updated for Season 14 PTR testing. Unique items can now use Focused Reroll and Chaotic Reroll. Unique Charms and Non-Ancestral Uniques can use Unique Power Reroll. Chromatic Tuning Prisms have a small chance to provide All Resist.

The PTR adds a detailed Cube rule: when using these recipes on Unique or new Mythic items. the recipe additionally costs 1 Attuned Primordial Dust. It also says Reroll Unique Power can be used on Talisman Charms and non-Ancestral items; All Resist can now be targeted by Add/Remove Affix and Chaotic/Focus Reroll Cube recipes when using a Chromatic Tuning Prism.

But the feature most players will feel immediately—especially those who prefer strict self-challenges—is Solo Self Found mode.

Solo Self Found (SSF) is described as a character state for solo wanderers carving their fortune alone across Sanctuary, providing more options to challenge yourself the way you want. When choosing SSF, players accept specific constraints.

SSF characters must be Seasonal only and can be either Normal or Hardcore. SSF characters cannot join parties or trade with other players. SSF share their own stash, currency, Paragon, and more only with other SSF characters on their account.

Free Trial, Couch Co-Op, and Dark Citadel are unavailable for SSF characters. The PTR says selecting SSF for that character is permanent for the duration of the season and cannot be changed. At the end of the season. SSF characters revert to Eternal characters with the ability to group and trade again as normal.

image

The PTR also adds exclusive SSF-only Tower Leaderboards to show off solo prowess. It further says that with Solo Self Found, new filters have been added to Leaderboards: Solo Self Found and Hardcore Solo Self Found.

Beyond those headline systems, the PTR includes other general and systems updates for Season 14.

General updates include obols capped at 25,000 and added missing minimap icons to Nightmare Dungeon and Pit objects. The PTR also says missing Boss Trophy items for Astaroth and Bartoc have been added, with combined recipes for them in the Horadric Cube.

War Plans changes include increased all War Plan Activity XP scaling to Torment VIII+ and increased base activity XP of Infernal Hordes. For Helltide. the War Plan progress has changed from opening chests to collecting 75 Cinders in Normal through Penitent and 300 Cinders in Torment 1+. It also adds new War Plan quests and nodes for Long Helltide/Escalation Sigils.

If players jump in for testing, the PTR also covers how to provide feedback and how to install.

The team says feedback is vital to ensuring Season 14 is the best it can be when it goes live. Feedback can be provided through the in-game feedback tool of the Diablo IV PTR forums. The PTR explains that pressing the ESC key in the in-game menu brings up the Report a Bug menu. Players can then select a dropdown filter and choose the in-game feedback tool to provide feedback without leaving the game.

For installation. the steps are laid out: open the Blizzard Battle.net App and select Diablo IV from your Games list; in the selector above the Play button. use the game version drop-down menu; select Public Test Realm; click Install to install the PTR client (which becomes a Play button when ready); click Play to log in to the PTR and select any available test servers; create a new test character; note that creating a Seasonal Character is required for testing related to the Seasonal themes; enter the game and test the 3.1.0 PTR.

For PC Game Pass or Game Pass Ultimate users, the PTR says access is available through the same flow as other Battle.net users: access the Battle.net client through the Xbox App, then continue to access the PTR through Battle.net.

PTR servers are available in North America, Europe, Korea and Japan, South America, and Australia.

The PTR includes a boost option to help players get started. The PTR Boost NPC in major cities is described as Mrak, available through the duration of the PTR. Mrak is located next to the main Waypoint in major cities and has new boosts to Lord of Hatred systems.

The PTR Boosts include items for crafting & materials—grant Gold. grant Obols. grant All Materials. unlock Masterworking. grant all Temper Manuals. grant Lair Keys. grant Tributes. grant Infernal Compasses. grant Nightmare Escalation Sigils—plus equipment boosts such as granting all Runes. max all Aspects. grant random Legendaries. and grant all Uniques. The PTR also says grant Talisman items.

There’s an important eligibility note: to receive Helms and Amulets from the PTR Boost, players must be at least Level 7 and Level 15 respectively. The PTR says players should level past this point to receive those specific items.

Further boosts include Paragon rewards to grant all Glyphs and max all Glyphs. progression rewards to complete Campaign & All Strongholds (unlocking Whispers and the Artificer’s Obelisk). set level to 70. unlock all Waypoints and reveal map. grant Skill and Paragon Point rewards. unlock and max War Plans. unlock all Torment Tiers. set Paragon to level 200. and seasonal items such as granting Seasonal items (Pandemonium Fragments).

If you’re already browsing patch notes, there’s a reminder at the end of the full PTR posting: “Beware the loss of a great power in the world. What comes to fill the void may be worse.” —The Diablo IV Team.

But between June 2 and June 9, the void is exactly what this PTR is for: finding bugs, stress-testing balance changes, and getting the big seasonal systems ready—before players step into Season 14 for real.

  1. So is this already live or only for like PC people? I swear the article says June 2 but then it’s like running through June 9? I just want to know if my character gets wiped.

  2. Mythic Uniques 3.0 and Solo Self Found… cool but also sounds like they’re just nerfing everything and calling it balance. Like will Tower rewards be harder now? I’m confused why they need a PTR for that, just change it.

  3. Pandemonium Ruptures + Realmwalker 2.0 + Deathtoll Chamber… that’s a lot of words for “more grind.” Also when it says Eternal and Seasonal Realms I’m like wait does Eternal even count if you’re solo? My buddy said Mythic Uniques is gonna be pay to win now which idk if that’s true, but I’m already mad.
