Deon Derrico Sues Tyrone Sprewell Over Home Sale

TLC’s “Doubling Down With the Derricos” star Deon Derrico is asking a judge to stop the sale of a home he says he co-owns, claiming his business partner, Tyrone Sprewell, is trying to sell the property before their ownership disputes are resolved.

Deon Derrico is back in court, and this time it’s not just about his ex-wife. The “Doubling Down With the Derricos” star has sued business partner Tyrone Sprewell over a real estate deal—an escalation tied to competing claims about who has the right to control a home he says they co-own.

In legal documents Deon filed, he alleges Sprewell is attempting to sell a property that Derrico says belongs to both of them, even though their ownership disputes have not been fully worked out and resolved.

Deon says he is entitled to a 25% stake in the home independent of Sprewell. He also insists Sprewell can’t unload the place without Deon’s sign-off.

The core fear, according to Deon’s filing, is that a sale could cause irreparable harm before the ownership issues are settled. He is asking the judge to halt any sale of the home for now.

That legal fight is unfolding while another case involving Deon is already in motion. Deon has also filed a restraining order against his ex-wife. Karen Derrico was arrested over allegations that she threatened to kill him and their children.

Karen is currently out on bond, and her attorney says the emailed death threats allegedly sent to Deon were actually manufactured by Deon to frame her after a messy split.

The documents and materials shared in connection with the dispute also include audio of Karen in a heated phone call with some of her children. In that call, Karen is heard admitting to threatening to kill one of her kids.

For Deon, the court fight has become a two-front battle—one over control of a home and another over claims tied to threats involving him and his family.

  1. He’s asking a judge to stop the sale… but isn’t that basically admitting he’s hiding something? Like why would they even be fighting this hard if it wasn’t theirs.

  2. I saw someone say the ex-wife threats were fake, but then they’re playing audio?? So which is it. Also 25% stake sounds super specific like he’s trying to lock it down but not fully own it.

  3. This whole show always felt like drama for the camera, now it’s court stuff about a home sale and a restraining order. I don’t get how Sprewell can even try to sell if ownership disputes aren’t resolved yet, but honestly people do the dumbest stuff when they’re mad. Also the ex-wife attorney saying Deon manufactured emails… makes me think everyone’s lying, like surprise.
