For flyers who want a welcome bonus without relying on Delta as a primary airline. the Delta SkyMiles Gold is framed as a strong option. Its annual fee is described as $0 introductory annual fee for the first year, then $150. The welcome offer is up to 90. 000 bonus miles: 70. 000 miles after spending $3. 000 in the first six months. plus 20. 000 bonus miles after an additional $2. 000 (for a total of $5. 000) in the first six months of card membership.

Delta business cards mirror the same tiering logic, aimed at small business owners and travelers managing expenses. The Delta SkyMiles Reserve Business is the most expensive business card. with an annual fee of $650 and a welcome offer of 125. 000 bonus miles after spending $15. 000 on purchases in the first six months of card membership. The perks list parallels the consumer Reserve with premium travel benefits and lounge access.

The Delta SkyMiles Platinum Business has an annual fee of $350. with a welcome offer of 100. 000 bonus miles after spending $8. 000 on purchases in the first six months of card membership. The Delta SkyMiles Gold Business has an annual fee described as $0 introductory annual fee for the first year, then $150. Its welcome offer is 90,000 bonus miles after spending $6,000 on purchases in the first six months of card membership.

Across all cards in the lineup. there’s a practical reality that determines whether the bonus is worth pursuing: American Express has a once-per-card-per-lifetime rule for welcome offers. If someone has had one of these cards in the past. they likely won’t be eligible for a welcome offer on the same card again. Amex also considers any Delta cards the applicant has or had when determining welcome-offer eligibility.

In a card landscape where the headline miles can tempt travelers to grab the highest number. the offers are clearly segmented by intent. If you’re looking for lounge access and companion certificates, the Reserve and Platinum point that way. If you want a lower annual fee or a straightforward entry card. Gold and Blue make the spending threshold more manageable.

For anyone who’s been watching Delta’s cobranded lineup and waiting for a moment when the bonuses are unusually strong, these current offers present a rare window—especially with the highest-tier welcome offers reaching up to 125,000 bonus miles.

  1. So they want people to spend $6,000 just to get that many miles? That seems backwards like “bonuses” but really forcing debt. Also $650 fee tier?? I’m good.

  2. I’m pretty sure these “up to” numbers are like, fake hype. My cousin said you never actually get the full amount unless you fly like every week, and he didn’t even read the fine print. Plus Delta miles are worthless now, so what’s the point.

  3. This is why I can’t tell if credit card promos are good or just a trap. It says $0 first year but then what, you just forget and get stuck paying $650 later? And “spending threshold” sounds like they’re judging you. I only fly Delta sometimes so I guess I’m missing the whole thing.
