Daniel Jones eyes jump after spring return
Daniel Jones’ torn Achilles ended the Colts’ 2025 season’s push, and the offense’s drop hit tight end Tyler Warren hard too. Jones is now back on the field in the spring and expects a “jump” going into what the Colts hope is a more complete year—while Warren’s
The Colts’ 2025 season started fast and looked like it might keep climbing. The first 10 weeks went about as well as they could have hoped, and after an 8-2 start, quarterback Daniel Jones had already established himself as a player the offense could build around.
Then the final seven weeks turned into something else entirely. Seven straight losses left the Colts at 8-9. and on the road to that finish line Jones went down with a torn Achilles. The injury didn’t just end a season storyline—it changed production across the offense. including a visible dip for tight end Tyler Warren.
Warren was a difference-maker early. During the Colts’ 8-2 start, he caught 50 passes for 616 yards. After that strong beginning, the numbers fell sharply: he managed 26 catches for 201 yards during the rest of the season.
Jones’ recovery became the center of attention this spring. Back on the field, the quarterback said he expects to take a step forward after his first NFL year.
“I think he was a really smart football player as a rookie,’’ Jones said, via Mike Chappell of Fox 59. “Kind of came in with a great feel and instincts — I’m sure you guys have heard that plenty — but I think that skill is only something that gets better with experience and reps. He’s gotten more reps. and you can tell. the way he sees things now is even better. and he’s moving well.”.
Those words land with extra weight because the timeline is simple: the Colts built early momentum. then the final seven weeks closed with seven straight defeats and a torn Achilles that clearly affected the entire offense’s output. In that same span. Warren went from leading the team with 50 receptions for 616 yards to tallying 26 catches for 201 yards—an obvious sign of how much the drop in offense reached the tight end position.
There’s also a fresh set of opportunities heading into the next season. Warren led the Colts in targets last year. and with Michael Pittman’s departure. the path to even more work opens up further for the tight end. The Colts’ hope is that the next season doesn’t mirror the finish—either with the offense staying steadier all year or with roles like Warren’s getting the chance to build on a stronger start rather than getting interrupted by injury and collapse.

So he’s “moving well” already? Sounds like we’re just ignoring the torn Achilles part lol
I don’t get it, they started 8-2 and then boom 7 straight losses. Like did the whole team just forget how to play? Also Tyler Warren got hurt too or what?
Tyler Warren numbers falling after that Achilles is pretty obvious. But I’m confused why people are acting like Daniel Jones is the only issue. If Pittman left then how’s Warren gonna get “more work” if the offense already tanked late?
Daniel Jones spring jump?? I feel like every QB says that and then the season starts and it’s the same story again. Also torn Achilles sounds like he’ll never be the same, so are we sure “moving well” isn’t just PR speak? Colts better not waste another year, because 8-2 to 8-9 is wild. I blame the play calling or like the tight end always, idk, just feels like Warren always disappearing.
