Comcast readies new Xfinity store on Lane Road

Comcast says a new Xfinity Store will open soon at 1556 W. Lane Road in Machesney Park, bringing more retail services to residents and adding interactive ways to explore products, internet speeds, mobile options, and business technology support.

A new Xfinity Store is preparing to open in Machesney Park, and the company has picked a specific address for the expansion: 1556 W. Lane Road in the Gateway District.

Comcast says the location is expected to open in the coming weeks, with the goal of expanding its retail presence in the Rockford area. For Mayor Steve Johnson, the move is about what comes with a storefront—extra access close to home, and a fuller retail corridor for day-to-day needs.

“The addition of an Xfinity Store strengthens our village’s retail corridor and enhances the services available to our residents. ” Machesney Park Mayor Steve Johnson said in the release. “We appreciate Comcast’s investment in our community and their commitment to providing convenient access to everyday products and services for our residents.”.

Inside the new store. visitors will find an interactive design aimed at making it easier to explore Xfinity residential offerings and get answers on the spot. The announcement says people can experience the complete line of Xfinity residential products and services. or talk through business technology needs with a Comcast Business expert.

For Comcast, the promise is direct support in a place designed for demonstration. Scott Wottle, Comcast’s regional vice president of sales and marketing, said the new location is built around the Machesney Park community.

“Opening a new Xfinity Store in Machesney Park allows us to deliver a more convenient, personalized experience to customers,” Wottle said. “From exploring the latest products to getting one-on-one support, this location is designed around the needs of the Machesney Park community.”

The storefront is also set up for people who want to compare services in person. According to the announcement. customers will be able to learn about Comcast’s Gigabit+ internet speeds and powerful WiFi that covers the entire home. They can also explore Xfinity Mobile and Comcast Business Mobile. with the option to purchase new mobile phones. devices and accessories.

Video and home services will be part of the mix, too. The store will showcase the Xfinity X1 video platform and Xfinity Home Solutions, which combine home security and automation.

Business customers won’t be left to figure things out alone. The announcement says visitors can connect with experts to discuss Comcast Business’ suite of solutions—fast, reliable connectivity, secure networking solutions, advanced cybersecurity, and a range of managed service options.

There’s also a practical reason people may choose to drop by rather than wait: the store is described as offering a time-saving queuing system, along with the option to go online to make an appointment.

The new Machesney Park location will join the existing Xfinity Store in Rockford at 6244 Mulford Village Drive.

Comcast says the Machesney Park Xfinity Store will be open 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sundays.

  1. interactive design and one-on-one support sounds nice… but Comcast tech is still a pain when something breaks. Are they also fixing the internet outages or just selling plans? lol

  2. Is this the same Lane Road that floods all the time? Like are they prepared for that or will the store be underwater when it rains. Also “coming weeks” means what, 3 weeks? They always say soon.

  3. So basically another retail spot to push mobile and speeds. I swear every time they open a store they never have the deals they advertise online. If they can actually get business tech support right there then maybe it helps, but I’m skeptical. Also Mayor Steve Johnson said “retail corridor” which is such a weird phrase—more like another place for them to upsell you.
