Cavaliers reunion snub leaves Timofey Mozgov deflated

Timofey Mozgov says nobody from the Cleveland Cavaliers’ 2015–16 title team texted or called him before the LeBron James-hosted, Europe-based ten-year reunion in which several key roster members were included. The announcement also triggered social media tensi
Timofey Mozgov watched the reunion video and felt the sting immediately. Not because the party looked bad — because the message never came.
The former Cleveland Cavaliers center. who was part of the 2015–16 championship run despite playing 13 games in that postseason. says he was completely left out of the team’s recent ten-year championship anniversary reunion in Europe. The trip was hosted by LeBron James and described as a luxury multi-country vacation. bringing together core members of the historic roster.
In the planning, Mozgov says he received nothing at all from the title-winning group. Speaking to the Russian outlet Sport Express on Friday. the 39-year-old Russian big said nobody from the squad text-messaged or called him to join the summer trip. When asked if an invitation had been extended, he answered: “Yes, I saw the video of that party. No one wrote or called me. If I’d been invited, I’d have gladly joined. Of course, I’d have loved to be there too, to drink some wine.”.
The roster present for the reunion included Kevin Love, J.R. Smith, Richard Jefferson, Channing Frye, and Tristan Thompson. Iman Shumpert and Matthew Dellavedova later joined the group. Mozgov, though, says he was not included in the outreach that made the trip possible.
The reunion didn’t just play out on European streets and yachts. It also spilled into social media. J.R. Smith, 40, claimed that Kyrie Irving had been invited to the reunion but “ghosted” the team. Irving didn’t add fuel to the situation in words; instead. he posted a quiet appreciation graphic on his Instagram that featured the entire championship roster.
Mozgov’s place in that era is part of why the absence has resonated. He played eight total NBA seasons and. during Cleveland’s championship window. was a vital starting center known for his size and interior defense. Across a career that was repeatedly interrupted by injuries. he also played for the New York Knicks. Denver Nuggets. Los Angeles Lakers. and Brooklyn Nets.
A decade after the Cavaliers reached the kind of success that becomes shorthand for an entire franchise era. this reunion has turned into something else: a snapshot of how quickly teams can reorganize. and how long the small omissions can linger. Mozgov’s account puts the focus on one detail that never appeared — the message that would have changed his summer.
