Cannes 2026 announces winners as Palme d’Or hangs

The 2026 Cannes Film Festival is set to announce its annual prize winners—including the Palme d’Or—on Saturday evening in Cannes, with the competition led by films from Ryusuke Hamaguchi, Pedro Almodóvar, Lukas Dhont and more.
Saturday evening in Cannes is when the 2026 Cannes Film Festival turns from anticipation to decision. The festival is announcing the winners of its annual prizes, including the Palme d’Or, and the results are scheduled to come in as the night unfolds.
This year’s lineup of competition films runs deep. with Ryusuke Hamaguchi’s “All of a Sudden. ” Pedro Almodóvar’s “Bitter Christmas. ” Javier Calvo and Javier Ambrossi’s “The Black Ball. ” Lukas Dhont’s “Coward. ” Vakleska Grisebach’s “The Dreamed Adventure. ” Pawel Pawlikowski’s “Fatherland. ” Cristian Mungiu’s “Fjord. ” Emmanuel Marre’s “A Man of His Time. ” Ira Sachs’ “The Man I Love. ” Andrey Zvyagintsev’s “Minotaur. ” Laszlo Nemes’ “Moulin. ” James Gray’s “Paper Tiger. ” Asghar Farhadi’s “Parallel Tales” and Arthur Harari’s “The Unknown.”.
The jury behind the prizes is headed by Korean director Park Chan-wook. It also includes filmmakers Diego Cespedes, Paul Laverty, Laura Wandel and Chloe Zhao, as well as actors Isaach de Bankole, Demi Moore, Ruth Negga and Stellan Skarsgård.
Neon arrives at Cannes with a reason to feel urgent about the outcome. The company went into the festival with deals for the competition films “All of a Sudden. ” “Fjord. ” “Hope. ” “Paper Tiger. ” “Sheep in the Box” and “The Unknown.” Those six titles represent six chances at what Neon is clearly chasing: extending a Palme d’Or streak that began with “Parasite” in 2019 and continued with “Titane. ” “Triangle of Sadness. ” “Anatomy of a Fall. ” “Anora” and “It Was Just an Accident.”.
The Palme d’Or isn’t the only prize on the line. As the winners are announced, the festival lists additional categories including Grand Prix, Jury Prize, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress and Best Screenplay, along with Camera d’Or for best first film.
The winners themselves are expected to appear in sequence as the evening progresses, with the full list to be updated as each prize is revealed.
