Saturday night has the feel of a reset button for Indiana.

After an unexpected loss to the Portland Fire last weekend. the Indiana Fever returned home on Thursday night and answered with a win over the Atlanta Dream—powered by Kelsey Mitchell’s 25 points. The result lifted the Fever to a 5-4 overall record and made Indiana the Commissioner’s Cup off to a 1-0 start.

Now, they’re taking that momentum to Brooklyn. The Fever will face the New York Liberty on Saturday, June 6 at 8 p.m. ET at Barclays Center. The game will air on CBS and stream on Paramount+.

The Liberty arrive with their own recent turnaround. They are 6-4 overall and have dealt with early growing pains under first-year coach Chris DeMarco. including a three-game losing streak. Since then. New York has won three straight and is coming off a 97-82 victory over the Toronto Tempo on Wednesday night.

New York is favored at home. Via FanDuel, the odds list the Liberty at -2.5, with an over/under of 175.5.

Clark is expected to play—despite everything that happened this week. Missing the game against Portland with a back injury on May 20. Clark has been on the Fever’s injury reports due to back soreness. She was listed as “questionable” before being upgraded to “available” ahead of the Atlanta game. and she is expected to play against the Liberty.

There was also the moment that only comes out of a game. not a press release: Clark was sick and threw up at halftime against the Dream. She still returned to the court in the second half and finished with 17 points, eight assists and seven rebounds. After the game. Clark said. “I haven’t puked that much in a really long time.” She added. “But then I felt fine. I felt light. So, I was running around feeling good in the second half, but I feel OK. Obviously, I’m losing my voice a little bit. But I’ll be good.”.

The Liberty’s biggest injury question is Sabrina Ionescu. She made her season debut on May 24 after dealing with an ankle injury. then missed the next four games with back soreness. Ionescu has been close to returning and was a full participant during Friday’s practice. DeMarco said Ionescu is “questionable” for Saturday.

This meeting also carries Commissioner’s Cup weight. There have been five different champions in the first five years of the Commissioner’s Cup, with the Fever winning the most recent title. The Liberty won the tournament in 2023 and were runners-up in 2024.

A $500,000 prize pool is on the line, and every regular-season game between June 1 and 17 will count as part of the in-season tournament. There will be a total of 50 games, including the championship game, and the championship result will not count toward the regular WNBA season.

It will be a first regular-season meeting of 2026 between the teams, even though the Fever won a preseason encounter against the Liberty. Indiana leads their all-time series 52-38. Still, last season didn’t go Indiana’s way overall: the Liberty won three out of four meetings.

The preseason matchup was also the first game for Caitlin Clark since her 2025 season was cut short due to multiple injuries. She showed some rust then, scoring seven points while shooting 2 of 10 from the field. Since then, Clark has found her rhythm and is averaging almost 20 points per contest.

For the Fever, Saturday is about more than another road game. It’s a chance to extend a bounce-back into a tournament opener that already stands at 1-0 after Thursday’s win—and to do it with Clark expected on the court after a back-and-sickness week that tested her physical limits. For the Liberty. it’s an opportunity to keep their current three-game winning streak moving while sorting out whether Ionescu’s “questionable” status turns into a lineup change at Barclays Center.

Either way, the night is set: Indiana’s momentum, New York’s resurgence, and two injury stories hanging over tipoff—CBS and Paramount+ ready at 8 p.m. ET.
