Busch Light lets fans vote on next flavor

Busch Light is launching a “Flavorshowdown” that runs from May 27 through July 7, letting beer drinkers nationwide vote between lemon, orange and peach for the brand’s next flavor innovation after the successful return of Busch Light Apple.

On April shelves again, Busch Light Apple was a hit—so the brand is now handing the microphone to its biggest fans.

After the return of Busch Light Apple last month. Anheuser-Busch announced a new contest that puts drinkers in charge of the next Busch Light flavor innovation. Krystyn Stowe. Anheuser-Busch’s head of marketing for the Busch Family & Natural Family of products. said in a May 27 news release that the company is “putting the power in their hands.” She pointed to the way customers comment. send in feedback. and circulate “petitions. ” saying the brand has decided it is “time to put the power in their hands.”.

The contest runs from May 27 through July 7. During that period, beer drinkers nationwide can vote between lemon, orange and peach as the next Busch Light flavor. Fans can cast their vote at busch.com/flavorshowdown or by commenting on Busch Light social media posts.

Anheuser-Busch said the three competing flavors were chosen based on “overwhelming customer feedback,” turning what had been informal fan enthusiasm into a public decision window.

The urgency behind this vote is understandable. Busch Light Apple—known affectionately by some fans as “Bapple”—sold nearly 1 million cases in the first week of its return. The beer was made available nationwide at the end of April in six-packs, 12-packs and other configurations.

The brand also has a track record of limited-run demand. Anheuser-Busch teased Busch Light Apple’s return earlier this year on the social network X. Since its 2020 debut, Busch Light Apple has been available for limited runs in 2021, 2022, and in 2025.

Last year, while on shelves, the beverage captured more market share during its first month available (May 2025) than any other brand and sold 1.2 million cases, according to Anheuser-Busch.

The sequence is clear from the facts Anheuser-Busch has shared: Busch Light Apple returns, sales move quickly, and then the company opens a timed vote for the next flavor options—lemon, orange and peach—chosen from customer feedback.

With voting now underway from May 27 to July 7, Busch Light is effectively turning one successful product cycle into a direct line from consumer preferences to its next release decision.
