Bunnie Xo Told Jelly Roll to Divorce Her

Bunnie Xo says a fight on Mother’s Day ended with her telling Jelly Roll to “file the f**king divorce papers,” and she insists the split wasn’t mutual—even though he later did what she asked. She also explains weeks of no contact, receiving served papers, and

For a while, the story around Bunnie Xo and Jelly Roll’s divorce has bounced between rumors and reactions from fans. But in the most personal way possible, Bunnie is now filling in the final-day details of how things actually ended.

In an episode of her Dumb Blonde podcast, she revisited the moment she says everything tipped over—insisting that what she shared on the show is “true” after Jelly Roll confirmed the accuracy of her claims at a recent concert.

Bunnie says their final blow-up happened on Mother’s Day. She didn’t lay out every detail of what was said or exactly what sparked the argument. What she did make clear was the emotional weight of it: she said they’ve “never been really good” at disagreements, calling it “a recipe for disaster.”

Then she described how quickly the situation turned from a fight to a command.

“I just looked at him and I said, ‘Well, file the f**king divorce papers’.”

It’s the kind of sentence that lands like a door slamming—one she later framed as something she and Jelly had a “cardinal rule” about never saying. But she also revealed Jelly had said it first.

“My husband has said it numerous times…. But when I say it, it really holds weight, because I’m not the type of person who says what I don’t mean.”

After the argument, Bunnie says she “packed a bag and left.” She and Jelly didn’t communicate or see each other for weeks. The silence only ended when she got served papers.

“During that, he was so mad and we were so emotional that he ended up doing exactly what I told him to do and filing the divorce papers.”

Bunnie’s account doesn’t stop at logistics. She went straight to the hardest part: she says the divorce wasn’t mutual.

“Was this divorce mutual? No. It was not mutual, even though I told him to file the divorce papers. I was speaking out of anger and just frustration. But was it necessary for us to have a wake-up call and for us to start having these real conversations? Absolutely.”

It’s a painful admission, especially given what Bunnie shared about what was already happening in her life at the time. She ties the timing of the blow-up to Mother’s Day and said she’s been struggling really badly through her IVF journey.

The podcast clip is available for viewers, with Bunnie saying it’s around the 25:29 mark.

Since then, Bunnie says things have calmed down. She and Jelly Roll have both expressed that they’re still best friends and still have a lot of love for one another. They’re also moving forward with having a baby together and co-parenting.

Even with the divorce paperwork now part of their reality. Bunnie’s message lands on the same note she returned to throughout her story: this wasn’t a mutual split in the moment it began. And the fact that they’re still choosing each other as co-parents adds a complicated layer to what happened—one that fans will be watching unfold as their next chapter starts to take shape.
