Bunnie Xo compared her marriage to Jelly Roll nearing its end to “getting out of a 10-year prison sentence” in a clip from her podcast, while also saying she and the country star still plan to have a baby through IVF as they move through their divorce filings.

In a clip from an upcoming episode of her “Dumb Blonde” podcast, the 46-year-old podcaster quipped that getting through her own marriage breakup felt like “getting out of a 10-year prison sentence,” drawing a parallel to the “Need A Favor” rapper’s divorce situation as it nears its end.

The joke started with a social media direct message she shared on the show. The man who sent it wrote: “Hey, pretty lady, I’m about to get out of prison on a 10-year bid next year. Please let me go out and have a time with you. That’s all I ask. I promise it will be worth it. Hit me back.”

Bunnie Xo said she didn’t mind that the messenger was in prison. But she bristled at the phrasing “let me go out and have a time with you,” then leaned into the punchline when cohost Meme Shahan joked, “I mean, after 10 years, he might need it.”

“I mean, same,” Bunnie Xo replied, laughing. “I just got out of a 10-year bid too. … What are we talking about?”

Her marriage to Jelly Roll. whose real name is Jason DeFord. has been under public scrutiny for years—but the latest headlines have turned to the couple’s present moment. Bunnie Xo’s real name is Alisa DeFord. and she filed for divorce from Jelly Roll on May 18 after separating on May 9. according to a divorce filing.

Even as the split moves forward, she has emphasized that what they built still matters. On the June 18 episode of “Dumb Blonde,” Bunnie said, “I know that my husband is a great artist. I know that he is an entity all on himself; I know I am an entity all on myself. but there will never be another ‘Jelly and Bunnie. ‘” adding. “What we built together as a team. the reason we are who we are is because of our love story.”.

She also insisted that their future plans aren’t collapsing along with the relationship. On a June 18 episode, Bunnie said she and Jelly Roll are “still having a baby together” as planned through in vitro fertilization as they settle their divorce.

“So, we have been the most unconventional couple that you guys have ever encountered,” she said. “We’re going to co-parent together. J is my best friend. Like, this isn’t what you guys think this is. Nobody cheated on the other person. It’s literally just we served our purpose for each other.”

Bunnie Xo framed the next chapter in terms of health and partnership rather than spectacle: “Being happy and healthy and best friends through this is probably the biggest gift that we could have given each other.” She added. “He wants the same thing. We’re just going to raise a little nugget as one happy family.”.
