Bob Odenkirk returns as Saul Goodman for July PSA

Bob Odenkirk reprises Saul Goodman in a “Know Your Rights” PSA celebrating America’s 250th birthday, alongside Jonathan Banks as Mike Ehrmantraut. The clip was shared on Bluesky by “Better Call Saul” co-creator Peter Gould, who confirmed it is not AI after con

Bob Odenkirk doesn’t ease into it—he slides right into the role. In a “Know Your Rights” PSA celebrating America’s 250th birthday, the actor sits back in Saul Goodman’s chair and starts like he’s closing a case: “Hi, I’m Saul Goodman. Did you know you have rights? Well, you do.”

The video. uploaded to a YouTube account called Saul4Democracy. was then shared to Bluesky by “Better Call Saul” co-creator Peter Gould. Odenkirk keeps the tone part comedy. part civic reminder. describing rights that are “old timey” and were “written by a bunch of guys in powdered wigs and knee socks. ” adding they’re “boring. but believe it or not. they’re still surprisingly relevant.”.

He spells them out with Saul’s signature swagger: “Your rights include, but are not limited to, freedom of speech, freedom of assembly, freedom of the press, freedom against unreasonable searches and seizures, et cetera, et cetera.”

Then the PSA pivots toward the larger occasion. Odenkirk points to the backdrop behind him—Saul’s U.S. Constitution set piece—and tells viewers they should be thankful for what’s behind it. “Sure. they’re old timey. ” he repeats. before saying the rights exist because “a whole bunch of good people. 250 years’ worth. sacrificed everything they had for this awesome wallpaper behind me.”.

By the end, he turns the message into a direct warning. “Know your rights, and for the love of Mike, don’t ever give ’em up.”

At that moment, the PSA brings back the familiar face of Jonathan Banks, returning as Saul’s fixer, Mike Ehrmantraut, to deliver the kicker: “I’m Mike, and I approve this message.”

It’s unclear when or where the video was shot—whether the production rebuilt Saul’s office set or whether Odenkirk is seated in front of a green screen. But Gould stepped in online when the clip circulated and raised doubts. When two fans on Bluesky worried the video might be generated by artificial intelligence, Gould replied, “This is not AI.”.

The timing also matters for viewers who grew up with the character. “Better Call Saul” ended in 2022 after a six-season run on AMC. Odenkirk originally played the shady defense attorney for five years on “Breaking Bad.”

And while fans have long wondered if Saul could return in a full series again. Odenkirk previously cast doubt on that possibility. He said that if there were another Saul show. “it takes place inside prison. ” adding the character’s circumstances would have to remain true to the show’s ending in 2025.
