Bo Levi Mitchell and Zach Collaros exit with injuries

Hamilton’s Bo Levi Mitchell was taken off in an ambulance after a sack left him injured, with Tiger-Cats QB Tre Ford stepping in. Winnipeg’s Zach Collaros also left the field after being sacked high by Reggie Stubblefield, replaced by Taylor Elgersma.
Sunday’s game between the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and Winnipeg Blue Bombers turned abruptly when both starting quarterbacks left the field with injuries.
Bo Levi Mitchell was the first to go. After taking a sack from Jake Ceresna, his foot appeared to get caught under the Blue Bombers lineman. Mitchell was taken off the field in an ambulance after the hit.
As he was lifted from the stretcher into the ambulance, the 14-year-old CFL veteran gave a thumbs-up to the crowd. Mitchell had started the matchup strongly for Hamilton in 2026, completing 18-of-29 passes for 228 yards and one touchdown. The 36-year-old entered Sunday against Winnipeg with 879 yards passing. eight touchdowns and one interception through his first three games. two of which were Tiger-Cats victories.
Tre Ford replaced Mitchell under centre.
Winnipeg’s Zach Collaros left next. The 37-year-old looked to be injured on a sack in the second quarter. when Hamilton defensive back Reggie Stubblefield sacked Collaros up high. Collaros stayed down on the field before walking off under his own power. On the next Blue Bombers drive, Taylor Elgersma came in.
Collaros finished Sunday 5-of-7 for 41 yards, but he was intercepted in the first quarter. He entered the game with 944 yards passing, five touchdowns and two interceptions through three games.
With both teams forced to switch quarterbacks early, the injury timing did the most damage to the flow of the match—Mitchell’s sack coming with Hamilton in gear, Collaros’ exit arriving right as the second quarter tightened.
