Big Tigger’s night didn’t end with a studio update or a social media tease—it ended in jail.

Darian Morgan. the 53-year-old former “Rap City” host. was arrested and booked into Fulton County. Georgia jail on June 20 on charges of aggravated battery and cruelty to children in the third degree. Court documents obtained in the case say he was released later that day on $10. 000 bond—$9. 000 for the first charge. which is a felony. and $1. 000 for the second. which is a misdemeanor.

The alleged victim is identified as Alicia Brown, Morgan’s wife, in a pre-indictment order. The order also lists the matter as “outside of divorce proceedings,” even though there are no public records of a formal divorce filing.

The timeline remains thin on details. The incidents are alleged to have occurred on June 9, and no further information has been released. Records also show prosecutors have not yet issued a formal indictment.

Morgan hasn’t publicly addressed the arrest in a direct way, but he posted on Instagram on Monday, June 22. The post included the line, “Life is a cruel teacher… she loves to give you the test first, and the lesson later…” and a caption that said, “Ohhhh but you gone learn…..”

While he remains out on bail, the court order spells out strict boundaries. Morgan was instructed not to have any “direct or indirect contact with any victim. victim’s family. or close associates by phone. mail. e-mail. social media. or through third party.” He was also ordered to leave immediately if he encounters Brown and is prohibited from coming within 200 yards of her.

The order allows one visit to their shared residence to gather belongings, under the supervision of a police officer. It also permits third-party communication with Brown only “for the purposes of visitation.” Morgan and Brown share a son, born in March 2025.

Earlier denials are part of the backdrop. This month. TMZ reported that Morgan—known for hosting BET’s “Rap City”—was the suspect in an investigation into an assault that left Brown with injuries. After that report. Morgan said on his radio show that “these allegations and accusations that have been circulating are false.” Records do not indicate whether there is a correlation between that investigation and the June 20 arrest.

An attorney for Morgan has been contacted for comment, but as of now, there is no public statement addressing the specific charges or what happened on June 9.
