Bed Bath & Beyond adds The Container in Texas

Bed Bath & Beyond is rolling out “Bed Bath & Beyond + The Container Store” combination locations across the country, including planned openings in Austin and Houston, Texas, as it shifts to a new home-retail model and expands installation services.

Two big home brands are about to share the same storefront in Texas.

Texas. The company said the new format is designed to bring together home essentials. storage and organization. custom spaces. and home services under one roof.

Amy Sullivan, president of Bed Bath & Beyond, framed the change as more than a test. “This isn’t a retail experiment. The move comes after a turbulent stretch for Bed Bath & Beyond, including its Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing in 2023 and the closure of its in-person stores. The Container Store entered a partnership in 2024 to offer Bed Bath & Beyond products in its stores after that bankruptcy filing.

The brand’s ownership and digital footprint also changed after 2023. Overstock.com purchased Bed Bath & Beyond’s intellectual property in 2023 and launched a new website and mobile app. Then. in 2025. Bed Bath & Beyond acquired The Brand House Collective. formerly Kirkland’s. with some Kirkland’s locations becoming Bed Bath & Beyond stores.

Alongside the new combo-store rollout, the company said it will expand Beyond Home Services to include cabinetry, flooring, and installation. The company’s plan is to let customers handle a project from design through installation in one place.

The sequence ties together the retail shift and the business strategy the company is now betting on: a combination storefront built around organization and services, followed by a push into install-led home projects, after the brand restructured through bankruptcy, partnerships, and acquisitions.

  1. So they’re putting Container Store junk next to Bed Bath stuff? Sounds like the same store twice lol.

  2. I used to love Bed Bath & Beyond for random stuff, now it’s like they’re merging with everybody. Bankruptcy then new app then this… feels like chaos but ok. Does this mean the coupons are coming back or nah?

  3. Wait so Austin and Houston get both brands in one building, but are the prices the Container Store prices? Because I remember that place being expensive for like plastic bins. Also how does “custom spaces” work, do they measure your closet or is that just marketing talk?

  4. This is what happens when stores keep disappearing. Like first bankruptcy, then they sell stuff in other people’s stores, then suddenly combo locations?? I saw they’re doing flooring and cabinetry now too… honestly I don’t trust it. I just want towels and basic organizers, not a whole home project mess.
