Apple announced the release dates alongside the film’s first details, cast, and creative team. Genden Phuntsok stars as Tenzing Norgay, and Tom Hiddleston plays New Zealand climber Edmund Hillary. The film is based on true events and. rather than centering the climb as spectacle alone. tells the story of the first successful ascent of Mount Everest through Norgay’s perspective.
The narrative follows Norgay’s rise—from a little-known Himalayan climber to one of the most recognized figures in mountaineering history.
