Alyson Hannigan mourns Anthony Head’s death at 72

Alyson Hannigan paid tribute to her Buffy the Vampire Slayer co-star Anthony Head after his death at 72, following a statement from his daughters that he died from complications due to pneumonia.
Alyson Hannigan didn’t wait long to honor Anthony Head after his death at 72.
On Saturday, June 6, the Willow actress shared a tribute on Instagram after his daughters announced that he had died from “complications due to pneumonia.” Alongside a sweet photo of the two together, Hannigan wrote: “This cut is so deep I fear it can never heal.”
She continued, “Oh Tonal…I am so grateful to have had you in my life! I want to say a million wonderful things about you and yet I can’t seem to find the words that would do you justice. I love you so much and will miss you forever. RIP.”
For Buffy the Vampire Slayer fans. Head will always be closely tied to one role in particular: Rupert Giles. the trusted Watcher and mentor to Sarah Michelle Gellar’s Buffy Summers. Over the course of the series. Giles also formed a close bond with Hannigan’s character. Willow Rosenberg—often guiding the young witch through her growing magical abilities and some of her darkest struggles.
Hannigan’s tribute landed during a painful stretch for the Buffy family. Earlier this year, Nicholas Brendon—who portrayed Xander Harris on the supernatural drama—died at the age of 54.
Sarah Michelle Gellar also shared a tribute to Anthony in the wake of his passing.

So sad, I watched Buffy forever.
Pneumonia gets people way too fast. I didn’t even know he was sick or anything. Alyson’s caption about the cut deep is rough, like damn.
Wait, 72… is that the actor who played that character who wasn’t really in it much? I’m getting him mixed up with another Watcher guy. But either way pneumonia sounds like they should’ve caught it earlier, like doctors always miss stuff.
This just feels like one of those cast curse things. First Nicholas Brendon and now Anthony Head, I swear the Buffy timeline is cursed lol. RIP Rupert Giles though, he was the only one that felt like an adult in that show. Also complications due to pneumonia? That sounds like “it was pneumonia” but with extra steps, idk.
