Allegiant cancels 61 routes, cutting Las Vegas options

Allegiant cancels – Allegiant Air is cutting 61 routes as it adjusts its network for July 2026, including three routes tied to Harry Reid International Airport. The carrier says revenue rose year over year, but it expects second-quarter capacity to fall amid disruptions linked to
For travelers looking at flight options into and out of Las Vegas, the change shows up in plain numbers: Allegiant Air is canceling 61 routes, including three that would have landed at Harry Reid International Airport.
The carrier says the cuts are part of a broader network reshaping for July 2026. based on route comparisons drawn from last year to this year. Even with those cancellations. Allegiant has also added routes—49 of them—but the company’s net network is still shrinking. according to the available analysis.
A significant portion of the cuts is also hitting Nevada’s broader travel map through Allegiant’s decisions affecting multiple airports. The carrier has already dropped service to seven airports in recent months: Los Angeles International Airport, Oakland International Airport, Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, Norfolk International Airport, Columbia Metropolitan Airport, Grand Forks International Airport, and San Diego International Airport.
Those first four—Los Angeles International Airport, Oakland International Airport, Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, and Norfolk International Airport—accounted for 43% of the cut flights.
Allegiant reports growth, but capacity outlook turns lower
The tension for customers is that Allegiant is not describing a collapse so much as a recalibration. On its most recent earnings call, the airline reported 9.6% year-over-year growth in operating revenue.
But the same updates include a warning about how it expects its operations to look soon. Allegiant expects second-quarter capacity to be down 6.5%, citing ongoing conditions in Iran and the blocked Strait of Hormuz.
That mix—revenue up, capacity expected down—helps explain why routes can disappear even as the business still reports growth.
Which routes are being canceled at Harry Reid International Airport
Among the 61 routes being cut are three connected to Las Vegas’ Harry Reid International Airport. The cancellations listed for those routes are:
Grand Forks International Airport in North Dakota to Harry Reid International Airport.
Chattanooga International Airport in Tennessee to Harry Reid International Airport.
Mesa Gateway Airport in Arizona to Harry Reid International Airport.
The airline’s broader cuts also extend beyond Southern Nevada. Across seven airports this year, Allegiant is removing service in a way that reduces available network options for travelers who relied on those specific connections.
What happens for Reno travelers
Not every Nevada traveler faces the same disruption. People flying directly out of Reno won’t be affected by these route cancellations because Allegiant Air hasn’t served Reno-Tahoe International Airport since January 2024.
Reno travelers could still be affected indirectly if they planned to connect through Allegiant’s network—especially if the cancellations change the availability of connecting flights.
The aircraft and schedule changes may be felt most sharply by passengers who bought plans built around those specific routes. For Allegiant. the decision to cancel 61 routes—including three at Harry Reid International Airport—lands alongside a business message of growth on the balance sheet. while operational constraints tied to Iran and the blocked Strait of Hormuz point to a tougher near-term capacity outlook.
