AL and NL Standings Shift After Busy Weekend

AL and – From Minnesota’s rout of the Yankees to Atlanta’s burst over the Mets and several one-run finishes, Saturday and Sunday games reshuffled both American and National League standings and set up a packed Monday schedule.
Saturday’s games sent ripples through both leagues, and by Sunday the standings were already looking different than they had just days earlier.
In the American League East. Minnesota’s 11–4 win over the New York Yankees on Saturday stood out. alongside Toronto’s 11–0 loss to Seattle. Baltimore kept moving in the right direction with an 8–5 win over Cincinnati. Houston also held its ground with a 10–8 win over Tampa Bay, while Boston topped the L.A. The American League Central carried its own pressure. Chicago White Sox games stayed close and often went their way, including a 3–1 win over Cleveland on Saturday. Minnesota’s 6–1 win over the Yankees came on Sunday, adding weight to a division where Chicago leads at 47–42 (.528). Monday’s matchups promise more moving parts. In the American League, Philadelphia plays Kansas City at 2:10 p.m.; the N.Y. Yankees face Tampa Bay at 6:40 p.m.; Houston heads to Washington at 6:45 p.m.; and Toronto meets San Francisco at 9:45 p.m. The National League slate includes Philadelphia at Cincinnati at 7:10 p.m. and San Diego visiting L.A. I don’t even follow baseball like that but 52-35 for Tampa Bay sounds illegal?? How are they that high already if it’s all changing every weekend.
Wait the article says Minnesota beat the Yankees like 11-4 Saturday and then 6-1 Sunday. So did the Yankees just decide to tank for draft picks or what? Bc that’s what it feels like to me.
Standings shift after a busy weekend… ok but what about player injuries though? Like I saw Toronto at 42-47 and Seattle 46-44, and I’m just confused because I swear Toronto was doing good last week. Also Tampa Bay leads AL East, so does that mean they’re basically guaranteed it? Not sure if 4 games back is actually close or not, baseball math is weird.
