254K pool toys sold online recalled for impalement hazard

Joyce US Corp recalled 254,000 Sloosh Dive Sticks sold online for an impalement hazard. The company says the hard-plastic sticks exceeded a compress limit and children could suffer serious piercing injuries if they fall onto them in shallow water.
A summer pool trip can change fast when a recall notice lands—especially when the item in question is meant for splashing, not injuries.
Joyce US Corp has recalled 254,000 Sloosh Dive Sticks after a U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) recall report found the toys exceeded a compress limit. The risk is an impalement hazard. and the CPSC report warns that in shallow water children could fall on the sticks. leading to “serious piercing injuries.”.
Joyce says that as of June 11, it was not familiar with any injuries connected to this recall.
The recalled items are Sloosh diving sticks sold as part of a 30-pack of pool toys. The model number for the pack is 40041, printed on the back of the box next to the barcode. That same model number is also printed on each dive stick.
Each recalled stick is cylinder-shaped and made of hard plastic. They are about 7 inches long and less than 1 inch in diameter, and they come in multiple colors, including red, yellow, green and orange.
These were sold on Amazon, Temu, Shein, Walmart.com and Target.com, according to the recall report. The toys were sold for $17 to $22 between February 2019 and Oct. 23, 2025.
If you have the recalled sticks, the guidance is immediate: stop using the diving sticks right away. The CPSC recall report instructs consumers to take a photo of the dive sticks in the trash and email it to Joyce US Corp at support@joyin.com. After the company receives the photo, it will send redesigned dive sticks that meet federal regulations.
For questions, Joyce can be reached at 800-781-3067 between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. MT Monday through Friday.
The rest of the pool pack remains part of the story, and it matters for families sorting what to keep. According to the recall report, the other toys in the 30-pack—including diving rings, torpedo bandits, funny face squids and octopuses, diving balls and diving fish—are safe to play with.
Taken together. the recall centers on one part of the set and one specific physical issue: the sticks’ failure to stay within the compress limit. The hazard described in the report is tied to what can happen when a child’s fall in shallow water brings weight down onto a hard. cylinder-shaped object. The company’s lack of injury awareness as of June 11 doesn’t remove the caution—it simply means the warning is being issued before broader harm is documented.
