Dayna Kathan didn’t wait for the “perfect time” to make it official.
After attending West Hollywood Pride over the weekend. the 35-year-old Vanderpump Rules alum took to Instagram to publicly announce she is a lesbian. In the post. she shared photos from the Pride festivities alongside friends. wearing a black cami with “gay” in white lettering. In her caption, she wrote: “Shout out to my fellow late in life lesbians!!. HAPPY PRIDE!!!”.
The response came quickly. After Kathan shared the post, her Disrespectfully podcast co-host and OG Vanderpump Rules star Katie Maloney jumped into the comment section with a shoutout of her own: “My favorite lesbian! I love you so much!!!!!”
Kathan’s Pride moment lands with extra weight for longtime fans. She only appeared on Vanderpump Rules as a cast member for season eight in 2020, when she came out as bisexual. During her time on the show, she talked about her sexuality with Ariana Madix, who also identifies as bisexual.
In a February 2020 episode, Kathan said, “That was my first L.A. Pride ever though… but then I also came out as bi. ” adding. “I just feel so much lighter now that that’s out there.” Ariana. 40. later shared in the episode. “This Pride is my first Pride publicly out as a bisexual queen. ” explaining before that she would attend Pride with friends while feeling out of place. “Before I would be at Pride with my friends and I’d be like ‘This feels weird. Why am I like in the closet at Pride every year?’”.
For now, Kathan is marking a new chapter openly—wearing her message, posting her truth, and letting Pride do what it does best: make room for people to be seen.
