Wyndham Championship leaderboard, FedEx Cup bubble: Weekend updates

It’s a big week on the PGA Tour as the top golfers convene at the Wyndham Championship at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, North Carolina, in the final tournament before the FedEx Cup Playoffs.

The top 70 golfers in the FedEx Cup standings after play ends at Wyndham qualify to play in the FedEx St. Jude Championship at TPC Southwind in Memphis next weekend.

Each week of the playoffs, the qualifying number gets reduced before the top 30 compete for the $10 million payday at the TOUR Championship at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, starting Aug. 26.

Here’s what to know going into the weekend:

Jason Day misses cut at Wyndham Championship

Jason Day will miss the FedEx Cup Playoffs for the first time in his career after missing the cut at the Wyndham Championship. Day had the longest active streak on Tour making the playoffs at 18 consecutive years, but the winner of the 2015 PGA Championship carded rounds of 71 and 73 and failed to make the weekend at Greensboro, finishing the tournament at 4-over. Other notable golfers to miss the cut include:
