Gervonta “Tank” Davis is now in the crosshairs of Maryland authorities, and the change came fast: a judge who once agreed his lawyers made their case has now signed off on a new arrest warrant—and this time, it stuck.
The warrant was approved by a Baltimore judge on April 24. It alleges that the 31-year-old boxer violated the terms of his probation, which originally stemmed from a hit-and-run in 2020 that left multiple people hurt.
At the center of the allegation is an incident officials say occurred in Miami during the early morning hours of October 27. 2025. at Tootsie’s Cabaret. Prosecutors say the probation violation happened when Davis allegedly attacked his ex-girlfriend. Courtney Rossel. who was working there as a cocktail server.
Rossel has claimed Davis forcibly grabbed her by the neck and physically moved her through the club against her will. She says she was only able to escape later. She also maintains that surveillance video supports her account.
Davis was arrested in January for that Miami incident. He is facing a felony kidnapping and a misdemeanor battery charge.
After Davis’s January arrest in South Florida. a Maryland judge issued a warrant for his arrest tied to a potential probation violation. But the court later reversed course. Davis’s attorneys argued that he had cooperated with law enforcement and should not be held on a warrant. The judge agreed with that argument.
Less than three months later, the same judge issued another warrant—one that remained in place. Davis is currently wanted in Maryland.
The timeline now reads like a narrow window closing and reopening: a probation-violation concern that was argued away. followed by another warrant issued on the same issue of whether he broke the rules. For Davis. the next move is no longer legal back-and-forth on paper—it’s whether he shows up before law enforcement catches him.
