Vivienne Medrano to Debut Animated Musical Prehistoria

Vivienne Medrano, creator of ‘Hazbin Hotel’ and ‘Helluva Boss,’ is set to make her feature debut with Warner Bros. Pictures Animation’s new animated musical ‘Prehistoria,’ announced during the studio’s Annecy showcase.
A fresh fossil fantasy is on the way from Vivienne Medrano.
Warner Bros. Pictures Animation announced that it’s teaming with the “Hazbin Hotel” and “Helluva Boss” creator on a brand-new animated musical feature called “Prehistoria.” The project will mark Medrano’s feature debut, with the studio previewing the news as part of its Annecy showcase.
The announcement came from Warner Bros. Pictures Animation’s Bill Damaschke during the Annecy event. where the studio also previewed a slate of other projects in the hopper. Alongside “Prehistoria,” Warner Bros. Pictures Animation previewed “The Cat in the Hat” (due out this fall). “The Lunar Chronicles. ” “Bad Fairies. ” “Margie Claus” and “Dynamic Duo.”.
Beyond the title, not much has been shared about “Prehistoria” yet. The only detail offered with the reveal is a small dinosaur character—described in the announcement as possibly a witch—seen in a preview image released with the news.
What’s clear is where the story sits in Medrano’s larger creative world. The film is set outside of Medrano’s “Hellaverse. ” which includes “Hazbin Hotel” and “Helluva Boss.” The press release points to how those series have “cultivated a passionate. highly engaged audience. ” adding that her content has generated billions of views and established her as a leading cross-platform storyteller.
For Medrano. the feature debut isn’t just another project—it’s the kind of milestone she’s been chasing since she began. In a statement. also known as “VivziePop. ” she said: “Since I began my animation journey. my biggest dream was to be part of a feature film. Now to be creating an original story that I have been holding for years with Warner Bros. Pictures Animation. a studio whose characters and stories have been a huge part of my life. is truly a dream come true.” She added. “I’m so excited to share this fossil fantasy world with everyone!”.
Warner Bros. Pictures Animation framed the move as more than one casting-style collaboration. The studio said the development “underscores Warner Bros. Pictures Animation’s continued commitment to collaborating with bold, creator-driven voices and tapping into emerging talent with strong direct-to-fan connections.”.
Medrano is represented by CAA, Redefine Entertainment and RLG.
At the moment, “Prehistoria” remains a mystery beyond that one dinosaur teaser and its promise of an animated musical feature. But with Medrano stepping into her first feature film role—and doing it away from the “Hellaverse” that brought her worldwide attention—the question for fans is simple: what kind of world will she build next?.
