Victoire bring Walter Cup to Montreal’s downtown crowd

Hey, I’m Melinda Dalton — social and digital video producer with CBC Montreal. I’ll be downtown for the team’s celebration today. I’ve been following the Victoire all year and was at the final game in Ottawa. Now, I’m here at the Quartier des Spectacles to share with you all the highlights from the Victoire’s victory celly with their fans. The team has been busy since their win. They’ve taken the cup to Montreal city hall, a Habs playoff game, the Verdun borough hall (their training
home base is the Verdun Auditorium and a lot of the players live in the city’s Sud-Ouest borough), a Montreal Alliance basketball game and F1. “I feel amazing. It’s been a surreal week with all the support, all the love we’ve gotten,” team captain Marie-Philip Poulin told The Canadian Press. “It’s for the whole City of Montreal and we’re all in this together.”

Cool, bring me to the party lol.
So is the Walter Cup like the same as the Stanley Cup or what? I’m confused why it’s going to city hall and then like random events, but hey good for them.
Wait she said Ottawa final game… but then it’s at Quartier des Spectacles today? Isn’t that like downtown, not near Verdun? Also F1?? I thought F1 had nothing to do with hockey. Maybe they just like using celebrities or something.
Love seeing the city celebrate, but I swear these sports trophy tours are getting kinda out of control. Like next thing you know the cup is at the Habs playoff game again and then a basketball game and then F1… can’t they just let the team rest? Idk I’m happy for Marie-Philip though, she probably deserves it.
