Veteran actor James Handy fatally stabbed in Tarzana

Los Angeles police are investigating the fatal stabbing of veteran actor James Handy, 81, in Tarzana. Authorities say he was killed Wednesday at an Erwin Street home by his girlfriend’s son, Michael Gledhill, who was arrested after a bizarre 911 call and booke
When officers arrived at an Erwin Street home in Tarzana at about 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, they found 81-year-old actor James Handy in the front yard, unconscious and bleeding from a stab wound to his chest. Paramedics rushed him to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Los Angeles police say the suspect was apprehended after he made a 911 call that sounded disorienting and cryptic. In the call, the caller told dispatchers, “I am the son of man. I just killed the man of sin.”
Authorities later identified the victim as Handy, whose credits include “Logan,” “Jumanji,” “Top Gun: Maverick” and “Arachnophobia.” Representatives for Handy confirmed the news to The Times.
Detectives said Handy was killed by his girlfriend’s son. The man suspected of stabbing him was identified as Michael Gledhill, 44, who lives at the Erwin Street home with his mother, whom police said was in a relationship with Handy.
In a news release, police said Gledhill flagged down officers who were responding to the incident and told them he was the person they were looking for. After that, detectives arrested him and transported him to Van Nuys Jail. He was booked on murder charges, and bail was set at $2 million.
Investigators said they believed the stabbing was isolated and that there appeared to be no danger to the public at the time.
Police are asking anyone with additional information about the incident to contact the Robbery-Homicide Division, Valley Section, Dets. Simonyan or Lopez, at (818) 374-9550.

That 911 call line is creepy as hell. Makes me think it was some kind of drug thing.
So it was his girlfriend’s son?? I’m not even getting how that happened. Like the victim’s just chillin and then bam.
I know this is random but Tarzana is always weird to me. Also how does a guy get arrested after calling 911 if he’s “disorienting” like that? Feels like the system already knew.
“I am the son of man. I just killed the man of sin.” Bro that sounds like a Bible quote or something, not real life. I’m guessing it’s all a misunderstanding and he wasn’t really trying to hurt anybody? But then they said stab wound to the chest so yeah… just sad. 81 years old too.
