Sobyanin said.. He also put the total number of injured in Moscow at 12, including construction workers at an oil refinery.
Russia’s Defence Ministry said it intercepted 556 Ukrainian drones overnight. while Sobyanin said air defences shot down more than 120 drones heading for Moscow and its environs.. Fallen debris was also blamed for a house in the village of Subbotino catching fire. and TASS reported four people were injured when drones damaged several residential blocks in the western town of Istra.. Some drone fragments fell on the grounds of Sheremetyevo Airport. Russia’s busiest air hub. though no injuries or damage were reported. according to the airport.

Earlier in the week. Russia carried out a huge wave of strikes targeting Ukraine’s capital. Kyiv. and those attacks killed at least 25 people and injured dozens of others. according to Ukrainian authorities.. The Sunday drone attack came after Russia held a scaled-down Victory Day parade following intensified Ukrainian strikes deep inside Russian territory. particularly against oil refineries.
During the attack. Ukraine’s commander of the Unmanned System Forces posted a message on his official Telegram account addressed to residents of Patriarchy. an elite residential district in Moscow.. “The one-way ticket to a peaceful life in Patriarchy and the surrounding areas has been canceled.” In the same period. Russian reporting circulated images on Telegram showing a house engulfed in a fireball and damaged apartment blocks. without specifying their locations.
The pattern across the reported timeline is tight: the overnight drone wave was described by Russian officials as reaching Moscow in far greater numbers than earlier strikes. and the consequences were then broken down into multiple impact sites—private homes. buildings under construction. residential blocks. and Sheremetyevo’s grounds—while the reported interception figures and air-defence claims were used to frame how much of the attack was stopped.
As the day progressed, Russian city reporting continued to place the toll and injuries within Moscow, tying them to Khimki and Mytishchi in particular, while Ukrainian statements focused on the targets in the Moscow region. The story was updated with additional developments.
