UK pro-Palestinian activists guilty in Elbit raid case
Four UK pro-Palestinian activists were convicted over criminal damage during a 2024 raid on an Elbit facility, while two were acquitted.
A raid on an Israeli defence firm has led to a courtroom split in London, with four pro-Palestinian activists found guilty of criminal damage.
At Woolwich Crown Court on Tuesday, Misryoum reports that prosecutors tied the incident to a 2024 attack on a factory operated by Elbit, following actions linked to the now-banned group Palestine Action.
The court heard that the raid targeted Elbit Systems UK in Bristol in August 2024, and that six defendants faced charges connected to the criminal damage.
This case is being closely watched because it sits at the intersection of protest activism and criminal responsibility, especially when actions spill from public demonstrations into property-related offences.
Among the accused, Misryoum says four were convicted: Charlotte Head, Samuel Corner, Leona Kamio, and Fatema Zainab Rajwani. The other two, Zoe Rogers and Jordan Devlin, were acquitted.
Misryoum also reports that Corner faced additional allegations connected to violence during the raid. He was convicted of inflicting grievous bodily harm, but the court found him not guilty of causing that harm with intent.
The defendants had all pleaded not guilty to the charges. While the guilty verdicts were returned for four, the acquittals meant not all of the prosecution’s allegations against the group resulted in convictions.
For campaigners and critics alike, outcomes like this tend to shape how future actions are planned and framed, since the legal line between protest and criminal conduct is left clearer only after cases reach judgment.
Misryoum will continue to follow developments as the case moves forward.
