Davies’ brother, Rhodri Davies, confirmed the death in a social media post on Instagram, sharing a photo of Owain smiling and holding a beer. “It is with profound sadness that my father and I share the news that my brother, Owain, has passed away,” Rhodri Davies wrote.
In the same post. he acknowledged the “great shock” felt across their circle and said “There are still questions that remain unanswered regarding the circumstances of his death.” Rhodri Davies also offered what his family understands “at this stage. ” writing: “Our understanding at this stage is that Owain passed suddenly. naturally. and peacefully.”.
He said the response since the announcement has been overwhelming. “The reach of Owain’s love, friendship, and generosity was vast,” Rhodri Davies wrote. “The outpouring of messages we have received over the past few days has been deeply moving and a testament to the impact he had on so many lives.”
A talent manager and friend also spoke to the sense of loss around Davies. Gina Layne D’Acciaro called him “a mega-watt talent. a consummate professional. and. personally. one of my very dearest friends.” In a statement shared Tuesday. June 2. she added. “As much as it pains me greatly to admit he is gone. I know we all (family. friends. and fans) saw something extraordinary in him. Thank you all deeply for believing in our Owain… Gone far too soon.”.
Davies was widely recognized for playing Agent Wilson across three episodes of the 2017 Showtime limited series reboot, “Twin Peaks: The Return,” which reunited a returning cast under the direction of late creator David Lynch.
His work extended beyond that role. Davies voiced Delivery Frog in Disney’s “Alice in Wonderland” sequel. “Alice Through the Looking Glass. ” and contributed to the Studio Ghibli video game “Ni no Kuni” as well as the game “RuneScape.” He also appeared in the British satirical horror film “A Serial Killer’s Guide to Life” and in the AwesomenessTV series “My Dead Ex.”.
As a stage actor, Davies performed at The Royal National Theatre and in London’s West End.

This part about “questions remain unanswered” makes me think it wasn’t actually natural. Like if it was peaceful, why would there be unanswered stuff? Idk I’m just reading between lines.
Owain Rhys Davies… I saw the photo on Instagram with the beer and smiling and it just hit me wrong. Brother says sudden and peaceful but then “at this stage” like they don’t know yet. Could be anything, but people online are already gonna jump to poisoning or whatever even though the article says naturally. Either way RIP.
