Trump Urges Freedom 250 Cancelled for MAGA Rally

Trump calls – President Donald Trump says the Freedom 250 concert should be replaced with a “giant MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN RALLY,” as he calls out artists who have pulled out and turns to a separate dispute involving the Kennedy Center.
For days, Washington’s National Mall has been preparing for the Great American State Fair. On Saturday afternoon, May 30, the spotlight shifted—straight onto Donald Trump’s demand that a planned Freedom 250 concert be scrapped.
Trump posted on Truth Social, arguing that the fair’s upcoming concert should give way to politics instead of music. “We should have a giant MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN RALLY. for 250. instead of having overpriced singers. who nobody wants to hear. whose music is boring. and yet who do nothing but complain. ” he wrote.
The president’s push comes after multiple artists said they would no longer perform at Freedom 250. Those names include Bret Michaels, Martina McBride, Morris Day, The Commodores, and Young MC. Trump seized on the controversy in his post, adding, “Cancel it.”
He didn’t stop at the concert. Trump also turned his attention to a federal judge who recently blocked his proposed closure and renovation plans for the Kennedy Center. Earlier on Saturday. Trump had posted on Truth Social about a separate plan: he said he would deliver a speech and host an “America is Back” rally at the “same time. same location.”.
Planning details around the fair have also been in motion. The Great American State Fair is scheduled to run from June 24 to July 10 on the National Mall in Washington. D.C. A person familiar with planning for the event said Trump was always expected to headline a July Fourth celebration connected to the fair. and the president is now also expected to participate in the opening ceremony.
It’s a sequence that’s easy to track: as artists backed away from Freedom 250, Trump doubled down on replacing the event with a rally tied to his political brand—right down to the “250” framing—while his attention continued to move between the fair’s schedule and the ongoing Kennedy Center fight.
With the fair approaching, the question for Washington’s summer plans is no longer just about entertainment. It’s about what takes the stage—and who gets to decide.

So Freedom 250 is just gonna be another rally? Kinda sad tbh.
I read this like the artists quit because Trump told them to? But then it’s also about a judge and the Kennedy Center?? Like how are these even connected, honestly.
Wait Kennedy Center closure/renovation is being blocked and then now it’s Freedom 250 getting cancelled? This seems like one of those domino things where it’s all the same lawsuit but they change the story. Also “overpriced singers” 😂 who wrote the article anyway.
Bret Michaels etc pulling out doesn’t surprise me. Trump wants a MAGA rally instead, like he can just swap music with politics and call it the same 250 thing? The fair being on the National Mall is still happening tho right, so maybe it’s not cancelled just moved? Either way it’s all politics now, even the judge thing with the Kennedy Center like come on.
