President Donald Trump walked into the Fourth of July weekend with a message meant to fill the Mall with confidence: the crowds in Washington, D.C., were “INCREDIBLE.”
In a Truth Social post on Saturday. Trump pointed to the spectacle of the day and the country’s mood as he celebrated the United States’ 250th birthday. “Despite the heat, which isn’t as bad as predicted, the crowds in D.C. are INCREDIBLE!. The love of our Country has never been stronger!. The Air Shows are at a level never seen before – What great pilots, what great equipment!!!” Trump wrote.
The upbeat tone landed after the Great American State Fair. running in the District from June 25 to July 10. had been forced to pause because of the weather. The Freedom 250 organization posted on Friday that the event would be temporarily shut down: “Due to the heat. and in coordination with public safety officials. the Great American State Fair will be temporarily closed until 5:00 p.m. today.” The organization said, “The safety and well-being of our guests, volunteers, performers, vendors, and staff is our highest priority.”.
By Friday and into the holiday weekend, Washington, D.C. felt the kind of heat that makes outdoor plans turn into risk calculations. The Weather Channel predicted a high of 104 degrees in the Nation’s Capital on Saturday, with thunderstorms to boot.
Trump’s posts kept moving—first toward optimism about the weekend he was enjoying. then toward a more pointed critique of forces he believes are weakening America’s standing abroad. He added a promise of a visible appearance late in the night. “Trump will be speaking at 10:00 p.m. at the Lincoln Memorial. ” he teased. as he praised the Reflecting Pool’s look even after it “went through with the Vandal Thugs.” He said he would “quickly drain and fix the damage done right after this big weekend” and closed with. “Happy Independence Day. Our Country is Stronger than EVER!!!”.
A few minutes later, Trump posted again on Truth Social, this time attacking Europe and its immigration approach. “Europe is learning that when you take in Third World criminals, you become a Third World Country,” Trump wrote. “It happens quickly, in just a blink of the eye. I was elected just in time!!!”.

So the fair closed from heat and storms, but he’s still bragging about Fourth of July crowds? Feels like two different stories, not sure why they even compare it.
Wait “Vandal Thugs”?? People keep saying the reflecting pool was damaged but I don’t get how that’s related to him showing up at 10pm. Also Europe immigration stuff is random like why is that in the same post.
Not gonna lie the heat 104+ is crazy, but sure “isn’t as bad as predicted” lol. Then he says he’ll drain and fix the damage right after the weekend—like that’s a normal thing you can just do overnight? And Europe becoming a “Third World Country” is a wild leap, like storms at the fair turned into geopolitics in one day.
