Trump Demands New York Cases Dismissed After Midnight Post

Donald Trump’s midnight post didn’t read like a routine legal jab. It was a demand, delivered in the blunt language of someone trying to turn a moment of doubt into a courtroom exit.
He wrote that he is “an innocent man who has been horribly treated. ” while insisting the criminal and civil New York cases against him be dismissed. In the same message. Trump pushed the idea that prosecutors behind those cases should be held “criminally responsible” for what he called their “terrible misdeeds.”.
The trigger, in Trump’s telling, was Michael Cohen—long one of his fiercest critics—who, earlier this year, claimed he felt “pressured and coerced” by prosecutors during investigations into Trump. Trump’s post framed Cohen’s shift as a clean undoing of the case.
Trump wrote: “When a Star Witness totally recants, and in every way reveals that he was pressured and coerced to give testimony, and when the Prosecutor admits that this Witness was the single reason that the case was brought, there was no other, how can that Case not be immediately dismissed?”
He added: “Now that his testimony is wiped away, and the unAmerican, Political Charade ‘Cases’ are even further discredited, they should be put out of their misery, and dismissed, once and for all,” the president wrote.
Trump’s argument wasn’t limited to asking for the cases to end. He also demanded accountability, using language that went beyond normal courtroom rhetoric. “Our Constitution. and the Rule of Law. demand immediate and swift dismissal. as well as for the Perpetrators of the Radical Left Lawfare and Weaponization to be held criminally responsible for their terrible misdeeds.”.
Cohen’s background sits at the center of Trump’s fury. During Trump’s first term. Cohen was jailed for his role in the hush money payments tied to porn actor Stormy Daniels and model Karen McDougal—people who’d alleged sexual encounters with Trump. For years, Trump attacked Cohen publicly. Now, Trump says Cohen has effectively withdrawn testimony in a way that should end both matters.
The sequence in Trump’s post is tight: Cohen’s claim that he felt pressured and coerced during the investigations becomes. in Trump’s language. a full recanting—and that recanting becomes the basis for asking for immediate dismissal of the criminal and civil New York cases. He also links the case’s origin to what he describes as prosecutors admitting Cohen was the single reason the case was brought.
As Trump makes his case from the political arena, the question hanging over the midnight message is how the legal system will treat Cohen’s statements—especially given that Trump is urging not just dismissal, but criminal responsibility for the prosecutors he accuses.

Midnight posts should be illegal lol.
So does this mean the cases automatically get tossed or is he just tweeting his way out again? I didn’t think you could call prosecutors “criminally responsible” like that without consequences.
Michael Cohen “recanted”?? I’m confused, because wasn’t he the one who helped ruin everything in the first place? If he changed his story then sure, dismiss, but then why does Trump act like it’s already over? Sounds like political theater to me, like when they pause the case but still keep it alive.
Honestly I think midnight posts are just distraction. The judge will do what the judge does, not whatever Trump types at 12:01. Also “unAmerican, Political Charade” like okay buddy, but prosecutors are always under scrutiny anyway. Cohen pressured and coerced… so like the whole thing was his fault? Idk, I’m just saying this reads like he’s trying to intimidate the system instead of letting facts play out.
