Peak of the Atlantic hurricane season arrives

Tropical Storm Edouard made landfall Tuesday, Sept. 1, in Johnson Bayou, Louisiana — seven miles off the Texas border — unleashing heavy rain and gusty winds across Southeast Texas and southwestern Louisiana.
Flooding remains the primary concern as the storm moves inland and continues to spread tropical moisture across the region. The storm is expected to weaken as it moves inland, but rounds of heavy rain could continue across parts of the region.

Bolivar Peninsula, Brazoria Islands, Chambers, Coastal Brazoria, Coastal Galveston, Coastal Harris, Fort Bend, Galveston Island, Inland Brazoria, Inland Galveston, Inland Harris, Montgomery, Northern Liberty, Polk, San Jacinto, Southern Liberty and Walker counties through Wednesday evening, Sept. 1.
