The incident occurred at about 10:35 p.m. on Interstate 93, where the trooper was stationed in a cruiser. At the time, the two left lanes were closed due to roadwork, according to a statement from the Massachusetts State Police.
Police said another vehicle hit the cruiser the trooper was in. After the collision, the trooper—whose identity was not released—was taken to Boston Medical Center to be treated for “minor injuries,” the MSP statement said.
The crash remains under investigation.
