Travis Kelce appears to have checked a $5.35 million lakefront estate off his “Wi$h Li$t.”
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end purchased a sprawling estate along Lake Erie outside Cleveland, The Wall Street Journal reported.
The 3.5-acre property in Bratenahl, Ohio, dates to 1895 and includes an eight-bedroom, 21,140-square-foot home with eight full and three half bathrooms, seven fireplaces, five garage spaces and a heated in-ground pool, according to its MLS listing.
Public records reviewed by USA TODAY show the home was acquired through an Ohio LLC formed days before the sale, while tax records for the property list André Eanes, Kelce’s longtime business manager, as the recipient of tax correspondence.
Before the sale, the estate underwent what The Agency Cleveland Northcoast described as a yearlong restoration. The brokerage said the work preserved original features including carved walnut walls, leaded glass and marble while adding modern amenities.
‘Moyenage’ estate
The lakefront estate, known as “Moyenage,” has a colorful history, according to Angelina Bair, who wrote about the property for Case Western Reserve University’s Encyclopedia of Cleveland History. The Elizabethan Tudor mansion features a black walnut grand staircase with carved lions, while its third-floor ballroom served as a speakeasy during Prohibition. An episode of the CBS series “Route 66” was filmed there in 1962.
The previous owner purchased the estate for $1.95 million in 2023 before restoring it and putting it back on the market. It was most recently listed for $5.99 million before selling for $5.35 million March 2.
Two days after the sale, The Agency announced the deal on Instagram, calling it a new record for the Bratenahl shoreline. David Ayers and Nick Zawitz of The Agency Cleveland Northcoast handled the transaction.
Ayers told The Wall Street Journal the home’s former ballroom was transformed into a game room and home theater during the renovation, while a gatehouse on the property was converted into a two-bedroom guest cottage.
Zawitz told the outlet the property had attracted multiple offers before the sale. The agents declined to identify the buyer to the Journal.
