Trace Cyrus says his sister Brandi Cyrus rented him a “mold infested” house, alleging issues with clean water, living conditions, and a dispute over a refund.
Trace Cyrus didn’t hold back in a string of Instagram Story videos on Friday, May 29—starting with an expletive-charged account of what he claims was a “mold infested” rental from his sister Brandi Cyrus.
“Alright, story time guys. I’ve tried to be really f***ing nice. ” the singer. 37. began. adding that he was renting the home from Brandi and calling out what he described as ongoing problems after moving in. He said the birthday shoutout he offered in the video—“happy belated birthday”—came with a complaint: the house was “a mold infested f***ing home.”.
Trace went on to describe what he says happened next. He said. “It’s been problem after problem. ” and claimed he only recently got “clean water.” He added that before that. he “didn’t even have clean f***ing water.” For living arrangements. he said he’s “sleeping on a f***ing air mattress downstairs. ” and suggested the situation derailed his plans—saying he can’t “put out my f***ing album or music this summer like I was planning” because he “gotta f***ing move again.”.
Then came the financial sticking point. Trace said Brandi “doesn’t want to refund me my money. ” and ended the first burst of videos with a furious attack on how he feels he’s being treated by his own family. “How many members of my family are just gonna go completely bats*** crazy and be pieces of s***?. It just never ceases to amaze me. the way that I’m treated by my own family is absolutely f***ing disgusting. F*** you!”.
Brandi Cyrus, 39, is Trace’s sister. Both Trace and Brandi were adopted by country music star Billy Ray Cyrus. and the biological children of Billy Ray Cyrus’s ex-wife. Tish Cyrus. Billy Ray also shares Miley Cyrus. Braison Cyrus. and Noah Cyrus with Tish. as well as son Christopher Cyrus with ex Kristin Luckey.
Friday’s allegations didn’t stand alone in the family’s public timeline of conflict. In January, Trace posted an emotional plea directed at Billy Ray after the country star made headlines for his messy divorce from Firerose and his political affiliation with President Donald Trump.
In that earlier post. Trace wrote. “Since my earliest memories all I can remember is being obsessed with you and thinking you were the coolest person ever. ” adding. “I wanted to be just like you. The day you adopted me was the happiest day of my life.” He said. “Sadly the man that I wanted so desperately to be just like I barely recognize now. ” and claimed. “It seems this world has beaten you down and it’s become obvious to everyone but you.”.
He also addressed concerns he said he and “the girls” had “for years. ” writing that Billy Ray had “pushed all of us away.” Trace singled out Noah. saying. “Noah desperately has wanted you to be a part of her life and you haven’t even been there for her. That’s your baby girl. She deserves better.” Trace acknowledged the public nature of the post as well. writing. “You may be upset with me for posting this but I really could care less at this point.” (Us Weekly reached out to reps for Billy Ray for comment at the time of Trace’s post.).
On Friday, Trace returned to the Brandi dispute with a different charge after issuing another fiery update in follow-up videos. He said he was able to calm down after that first outburst, and he called out what he alleged was avoidance of direct communication.
“Alright, the last video was me at about a level 3. Brandi, don’t hit up anyone else to f***ing do your talking for you. If you want to talk, call my f***ing phone, but I’m not playing nice anymore. I don’t give a f*** who the f*** you are — family. friends. it doesn’t f***ing matter — no one is f***ing me over anymore. Do the f***ing right thing or this is about to get real entertaining just f***ing wait, I promise.”.
He later added, “OK guys, I’ve chilled out a little bit. I got in the sauna, I meditated, I had to atroproject to the spiritual realm to make sure my mammy up in heaven was looking down in complete disgust at Brandi’s actions — she’s tuned in, she’s well aware, so that marks me happy.”
