Jenna Bush Hager and Sheinelle Jones fall on opposing ends of the leg-shaving continuum.
The “Today” co-hosts weighed in on the matter days after Keke Palmer’s shaving habits, or lack thereof, sparked a spirited discourse online. The admission itself went viral, with some viewers calling the move “relatable,” while others could not relate at all.
“I can’t even remember the last time I shaved my legs,” Jones told Bush Hager. “My legs? Some people don’t. No. I don’t really. I don’t get hair on my legs.” A bewildered Bush Hager then asked her co-host if she could touch her leg to prove it.
“Wow. She’s like a hairless cat,” Bush Hager said. “I am so jealous of how soft and hairless of a cat you are.”
The conversation didn’t end there; Jones flipped the question on Bush Hager, asking her co-host if she shaves every day and whether she, too, can touch her leg.
“I shave every day, and I’m not going to let you touch me, because I feel….” Bush Hager joked. “I’m gonna — only during commercial break. Only during commercial break, because I’m hairier than you and I shaved this morning. I’m scared. I feel judged.”
Jones assured Bush Hager that she had done a good job shaving, murmuring “that’s good” as she felt the front of her leg.
Keke Palmer on shaving: ‘I’m not doing it’
Keke Palmer won’t be caught shaving her legs.
“I’m not doing it,” Palmer said in an appearance on the “Are You Okay?” web series. “Who’s sitting there? You know, if you don’t like me because of the hair on my legs. Then we’re not meant to be.” Palmer does, however, attend to the area by applying Nair Hair Remover on it every six months.
“But I’m not sitting there doing all that,” Palmer added, in reference to her shaving.
Palmer shared various takes over the course of the interview, even saying women “should be able to be average.”
“Why can’t we just be, like, you know, whatever? Why can’t we phone it in?” Palmer added.
