Timothée Chalamet’s Knicks champagne celebration goes viral

Timothée Chalamet traveled to San Antonio on June 13 to celebrate the New York Knicks’ 53-year NBA championship win. In the locker room, he was sprayed with champagne, later posting the moment to Instagram—alongside a playful joke about “stunt double” energy.
When the New York Knicks finally captured an NBA championship after 53 years, Timothée Chalamet was right there to celebrate—up close, and without trying to dodge the splash.
Chalamet joined the Knicks players after their big win on Saturday night, June 13, at Frost Bank Center in San Antonio, Texas. The 30-year-old actor is a born-and-raised New Yorker and has been an avid Knicks fan for years, often spotted sitting courtside at games.
The weekend trip wasn’t random momentum, either. Chalamet was seen in NYC attending game three and game four of the finals. For game four, he even wore matching outfits with girlfriend Kylie Jenner. Then he traveled to Texas for game five of the 2026 NBA Finals. where the Knicks defeated the Spurs to win their NBA championship in 53 years.
After the final whistle, he was seen celebrating on the court with other fans. Chalamet also stepped in with shooting guard Mikal Bridges for photos—Chalamet holding up a New York Post cover that called the Knicks “Champs!”
On the court, Chalamet told SportsCenter, “Way rather this than the Oscars! Come on baby!” He’s been nominated for the Best Actor award at the Oscars three times in his career so far, but in that moment, the championship clearly stole the spotlight.
Later, he joined the team in the locker room to keep the celebration going. That’s where the champagne came in—literally. Chalamet was sprayed with champagne all over him, and he captioned a video of the moment on his Instagram: “THEY DID IT.”
In another video, he leaned into the chaos, saying, “I’m not an athlete, usually I have a stunt double to do that.”

This is so cringe but also kinda iconic lol
Wait champagne in the locker room like… is that allowed? Somebody’s gonna have to clean that up and I’m pretty sure that costs more than the ticket.
I saw the headline and I thought he was playing for the Spurs?? Like he was there and then bam champion? Also why is Kylie Jenner matching outfits with him like that doesn’t make sense.
Oscars, Knicks, champagne, stunt double… dude is doing the most. I don’t even watch basketball like that but I’m sure this was staged PR because he’s a celebrity and they love viral moments. Next thing you know he’s gonna be holding up a New York Post cover like it proves the championship 😂
